This ***** is getting really old, really fast.

Let me know when the Big 10 adds Pitt so I can get back to more interesting news. OH, the Big 10 could take another 8 to 12 months to decide?

Please...ISU's current revenue levels, prestige, and fan following would drop like a lead balloon if that happened.

Isn't the reason we aren't considered to join these new conference is because of low revenue, prestige and fan following?? Just curious.

Fans really need to show up this year.

I know the guys who run OrangeBloods and they would not have run this story unless they were absolutely sure of its legitimacy. This is NOT fluff journalism..

Just like the guy at the KC radio station that said NU and MO had B10 invites. ANyone that thinks K-State is getting into the Pac 10 is crazy. That is never going to happen.

K-State was one of the teams left out.

Left out would be Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska and Missouri.

Ah, thanks for correcting me. I meant OSU. OSU is like a junior college compared to the Pac 10 schools, I can't imagine that happening. Maybe I am the crazy one.

A few things to keep in mind:

Let's say that this is true...and this journalist's track record says he is legit...the teams might not accept. If the Big 12 can pull together a TV deal like the ACC just did, it might not be worth leaving. But then again, we have no clue what the PAC 10 has up their sleeve either.

If Texas can pull together their own TV network, there is no reason for them to leave IMO.

see how the cards fall and enjoy our last couple years of BCS athletics...

What do you think happens to Kansas, & Kansas State?

Big 10 no, they want Mizzou, Pac 10 no, not a Texas or Oklahoma school.

These 2 schools are not going to be left out of the BCS mix we are all in the same boat.

Look at it this way, Orrin Hatch was all up in arms about Utah getting locked out of the BCS title game. This year Boise State has a great shot at going undefeated
and may get shut out of the title game. If they get shut out then you have controversy again and BCS is under attack by more politicians. If they get in that will give the MWC instance credibility because Boise is going to be a future member.

Either way the MWC will be a BCS conference by 2012 if all this realignment happens. (ISU, KU, KSU moving to the MWC)

What will be interesting is where will the PAC 10 play their title game. Jerry (Texas) will want it in Dallas, but a school like SC will want it in Los Angeles. Lots of hurdles to jump before this actually happens.

If Texas has their own network, what's the point again? If they function like an independent, what do they bring to a conference?

That is a phenomenal post.

What does Texas having their own network do for ISU?
