“Following two days of consultation with the athletics directors of the continuing members of the Big 12 Conference, commissioner Bob Bowlsby stated, “The eight ADs remain committed to furthering the Big 12 as one of the nation’s premier athletic conferences, and look forward to working with our presidents and chancellors to strengthen the league. Future exploration by the group will continue to center on options that best position the long-term strength of the Conference.”

That's great news! I look forward to Central Florida and BYU joining the Big 12 and remaining a serious conference because we know that the other conferences and ESPN will be fair about it.

We’ll be fine. Big 12 maybe not. Enjoy the season, our final spot won’t be known any time soon and this is likely the best season we’ve ever had coming up.

Fully expecting a disappoint settlement with OuT and the addition of two G5 schools leading to life as the weakest of the P5 conferences. Really hope in wrong.

I figured Bowlsby wouldn’t say anything. I’m also not sure how this is posturing? Every indication says no other conferences want any of the remaining Big 12 schools. Getting left out of the alliance is another indicator. This certainly isn’t doomsday like many think, but our AD will take a hit.

1. They had to say something
2. There isn't anything much to say, not because of some failure but because it's ongoing and there's no news right now
3. Still I'd appreciate it if they put more effort into sounding like a real human and not release a statement full of corporate gobbledygook, because I'm tired of dickhead sportswriters making fun of us on Twitter
