Cyclones Release Non-Conference Schedule

Foget about marquee teams. There are plenty of good regional teams we could play, but choose not to. For example, Green Bay and South Dakota State. Minnesota played Green Bay last year at home - why can't we? Iowa had a home-and-home with SDSU - why can't we?

There are plenty of Midwestern top programs that would probably do a home and home with us. Marquette, Notre Dame, DePaul, Pittsburgh, West Virginia....

Pat Summit would also come to Ames. She likes to mix it up with top level teams and show her players a variety of offenses/defenses to play against.

I would rather see ISU in the big dance every year than play a tough non conference schedule. When you are playing home and away games in the toughest women's basketball league then you need a few cupcakes to eat along the way. Iowa, UNI, Michigan, and Penn State, all are waiting to hand our heads to us on a platter. That is as tough of a schedule as I want to see. We have a team that lost its star player and we have no clue who is going to step up, if anyone. Bring on the cream filled cupcakes and let us get some wins before we get started in Big 12 play.
