Fran McCaffery and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Transfer Portal

That’s a good pickup out of the portal for a change.
Need to get 2 more. Makes no sense to leave a scholarship unused in today's climate.
Seth Tuttle is the coach in waiting in Cedar Falls. Kind of starting to wonder how long Jake sticks it out with things falling apart. He's still not really that old though (53).
Between what he's made coaching and the investments he's made in the Cedar Valley, he could walk away tomorrow and be set for life and probably his kids' lives.
He's always been an 'I'm not going to coach forever' guy and you start to think that maybe that's sooner rather than later as he's very 'Jay Wright' in how he feels about the portal and recruiting in today's game.
Tuttle is absolutely the guy and, maybe, it's his time if the next year or two continue down the same path.
The Athletic doesn't have him listed as a player in the portal, looking at his stats, good assist to TO ratio of 3/1, shot like .34% from three last season. Big step up in competition but EIU had to do something to add depth to their backcourt. Looks like if the Harding kid does not work out, they have someone to fill in or at least sub.
I've found if you are talking to a group of Hawk fans they tend to be tolerant of Fran but if you ask them on an individual basis there's very little support for Franny.
It also doesn't help that Fran doesn't have a very good relationship with the media. The only "friend" he has in the media is Eickholt, who is a fanyboy. Fran has gone after Chad L. at the Register too. Remember, Fran had a few conflicts with Dolph and most Hawk fans sided with Dolph.
I can't wait for that to get bullied off the internet like the "Bird is the Word" video Iowa Basketball put out 10 years ago.
