Tell the coach to get pumped up. Yell at the guys. Don't get out coached from the get-go of the second half. Set up a full court press/half court trap to mix it up once in a while. (GAMBLE once in a while- playing this man to man **** all the time with no changes gets really old.) Set a back-pick ally-oop play for Gilstrap once in a while. (a-la Jacy Holloway to Cato) YELL at the refs and get an emotional technical foul.....just to get the fans in to the game a bit more.

I would also like to see one of the players on the court raise their hands....urging the crowd to get loud. I don't care if it is only 2-0 Cyclones at the time.

And yes, we as fans need to be on our feet and roaring...leaving the game "hoarse"..sick of this boring brand of BB that GMac has offered, especially here in year 4....I hope he can get some W's...... he has a hot seat now..... time to start winning and showing passion on that sideline for the B12 reg. season. He really needs to do it.....and soon.

Go Clones!

A lot of good points in this post. I agree. It's time for McDermott to show a little flexibility in his scheme! Mix up a little defense (not just man-to-man for the entire game), run some new plays, etc.

It can happen folks. Don't give up just yet. I'm hoping for the monumental upset on Wednesday. Let's do it!

THE FIRST VICTORY OVER A #1 RANKED TEAM IN 53 YEARS WILL TAKE PLACE WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!! IT WILL BE ONE FOR THE AGES!!!

Name one thing you have seen this year to make you think that? If you are so sure it will happen, I would be hoping you are putting a lot of money down on it in Vegas.

I will be in attendance wed. night and Sat. in Lincoln and hope for the best. I live 140 miles from Ames and 140 miles from Lincoln. I was in Lincoln for the big football win, one of the happiest days of my life! This will be my first live viewing of the bb team and I am reserving judgement until I assess live tream chemistry, attitude etc. The real season begins NOW. I predicted 12-2 at this point, missed the lome loss to UNI and the road loss to Northwestern. I see no reason they can not start 1-1 to start the Big 12. If they can stay within single digits with Texas, I will be encouraged. I will not give up on this team at this point in the season.

I will be there. My main concern is the crowd. Number one, will they show in great numbers? This is the very first phycological key for the players. Seeing a sold out arena jacks them up right away. Number two, when the ball tips off and the game is going, will the crowd get going or will they sit on their dead a$$ like they have been doing? IMO, the crowd has to help the team. They have to be loud all the time, not just when a good play happens. Anymore, every time an ISU team starts making a run and the crowd gets going, the other coach calls a timeout to quiet the crowd or there is a media timeout or there is a cheap foul, and the crowd quiets back down again. Weds, the crowd needs to keep it going despite interruptions like fouls and time outs. Thats how we have played with highly ranked teams at Hilton in the past and we need to get back to that. So, can everyone on the board do their part? There a lot of us on here that go to games. Maybe there is enough of us to get the whole place going? Should we take a roll call by section and see if there is a dozen or so guys from each of the sections that can get rest of the section going?

I get around
You must not have been at the NDSU game, because coach did yell at the team and the refs, they did mix up the defense and trapped quite a bit. I think they ran a couple back-pick plays, but they weren't there.

I'm sick of every "fan" knowing exactly what buttons McDermott has to push to get the team to play together, as if he hasn't tried every single one of them.
Good post and very true.

Our only ever win against #1 in the nation came on January 14th, 1957 when the Roland Rocket, Gary Thompson upset the Wilt Chamberlain lead Kansas Jayhawks 39-37. Wednesday is going to be a special night! Can't wait to be a part of it!!!
man there was alot of offense in that game

"THERE ARE PLENTY OF SEATS STILL AVAILABLE"

this, already states how fans feel about this game. in years past this would never be the case and tickets outside the arena would be going for twice face value... sad.

that being said, I'll be there and I'll cheer loud and proud. I'm just not really capable if convincing myself that the unthinkable could happen.
You don't sound proud:confused:

I hate it when players do that while the ball is in play, I lose respect for them. I they do it after the visiting team calls TO because of the *** whipping they are getting I love it.
