Anyone have experience with LCL injury?

I think all the squats from the 5x5 has caused some tendonitis in my right LCL (outside knee). Doesn't really hurt when lifting or doing anything EXCEPT if I kneel down, it feels like a red-hot poker jabbed into the top outside of my shin. Seriously intense pain.

Wondering if anyone has run into this?

I have been having problems with mine. It started this fall before I started lifting again. I've been trying a brace when I lift that seems to help a little. The brace has the donut with 3 straps, I think it's bracoo brand. I wonder if a McDavid brace would be better.

Just got my yearly bloodwork from a physical back.
Glucose is at 109 which is down from 113 from a year ago but still high
Cholesterol is at 155 which three years ago was 204!!
Triglycerides are at 168 still high, but compared to 234 four years ago they are getting better.
VLDL is 33.6 whicg is a tade high yet but was 46.8 four years ago
HDL is at 42 no change there
PSA (prostate serum) is 1.26 up from 1.04 a year ago. This has flucuated up and down for the last nine years from .98 to 1.36
Weight is down from 225 to 221 from last year
BP also is down from 120/78 to 100/60

All in all not to bad but still room for improvement. Dr would like to see me at 200 lbs. Only on high BP meds also. Gotta keep exercising and eat better.

There is a doc in Mpls.- Dr. Sean O'mara - who uses MRI scans of the abdomen to scare guys into losing weight. The scan allows you to see the unhealthy fat inside the abdomen, known as visceral fat. Visceral fat, also known as 'toxic fat', is very different than ectopic or subcutaneous fat. Here he is interviewed by Dhru Purohit about his approach...

Did you talk to your PCP about lowering the dosage of your BP meds (if that’s your goal)?

Already on the lowest dosage. I’ve asked about going off it, but he is hesitant to. I used to have PVC (preventricular contractions) also. He told me those are normal, but it really made me aware to get off my butt and get healthier.

I decided to have a DEXA scan to see where I was at for % body fat. This was my first time having one, but I wish I would have gotten one before I started my health journey.

Body fat % was around 26%

Lean mass was right around 50th percentile.

I'm hoping that I can improve that with more resistance training. I'm in a walking boot due after spraining my ankle and breaking my foot in a car accident on the 11th (avulsion fracture). Because I'm in a walking boot, I've only done upper body weights for now so at least I do something.

I had back surgery and shoulder replacement last summer. I got to the point where I could not get up off the floor without rolling over on my stomach. I think my max weight was 224 the begining of Nov and my numbers were off the chart. I used to be super active, competing in Triathlons, 5k, 10k races. Hell I even done an Ironman Triathlon in 2012, so I was in really good shape.
In November I took control again and made some serious life changes. I quit drinking alcohol, started eating Mediterranean style, and going to the gym. I got on the scale this morning and down to 188, down 36 lbs in 2 months. I am slowly getting back. My goal is to do a few 5k races and sprint Triathlons this year. Going to wait to see what my numbers are when I get down to 180. My goal weight is 170-175.

I did a couple of those between Halloween and New Year and it was SO interesting. That's when I learned I was waaaaay under on protein and just tracking/adding that....I gained 2lb of muscle in about 9 weeks. She also noted I was pretty imbalanced left to right........always carrying kids on the right. So I tried to focus on that and almost all the gain was in my left arm/left leg so that was good.

I probably need to get to the chiropractor soon. My alignment has to be terrible after a car crash and walking boot.

Go to a real doctor please. The chiropractor isn’t doing anything, it’s a made up specialty that shouldn’t exist and was legit created by a grifter.

Was gonna say something except not so blunt.

If a chiro gives PT along with the adjustment imo it's fine but if it's basically just a temporary fix to come back every few weeks a PT is the way to go imo.

My PT will adjust some things but gives very good exercises to do to build on it or make the adjustment myself.

I've had issues with a hamstring that was determined to be more of a sciatica issue. I still have some work to do but it's good news in a way since I can find ways to help the sciatica.

Is there a type of doctor I should go to for something like that? I don't really trust chiropractors much anyways.
Go see ortho, or a physical therapist. If you go to ortho first you can almost always get a script for PT so it can be covered by insurance or at least partially.

I’ve had 4 different major injuries come in this week alone from those quacks, I’m tired of speaking politely about a psudeoscience field that was created by a charlatan to make money.

FWIW I went to a PT years ago initially after my hips went out and they really weren't very good; they'd just show me about 10 different balances/core exercises to do but didn't really specify anything. She eventually sent me to this weird 'back' class that was basically just a basic balance/strength class for senior citizens.

Finally I asked for another person and he's been great and is a running specialist; has a small plastic skeleton in the office to show what's going on, what the goals are, and then gives like 3 things to work on to help out. I

It made no sense that they didn't send me to him to start with since his office is in the same building as my Dr.
