Posting on behalf of the ISU Compliance office...
Cyclone Fans, please be reminded that NCAA rules prohibit fans/boosters from recruiting on an institution’s behalf. This means sending recruiting communications (emails, texts, Tweets, Facebook messages, etc.) to prospective student-athletes is impermissible. Violations of this bylaw could result in recruiting sanctions or athletes being deemed ineligible. If you have any questions concerning this or any NCAA rules, please contact the Compliance Office at [email protected] or through twitter: @ISUcompliance. Thanks and go Cyclones!
Another choice excerpt from the Compliance brochure:
Recruiting Extras
The NCAA does not allow boosters to contact
prospects by any electronic communication, this
includes MySpace, Facebook, Internet chats, etc.
A prospect remains a prospect even after he or
she signs a National Letter of Intent (NLI) or
commits to ISU. Therefore, contact by a booster
is not permissible until the individual begins his
or her fi rst regular term (fall or spring) at ISU or
begins preseason practice (two-a-days).

Are you a Booster?
A booster, or what the NCAA refers to as a “representative
of the institution’s athletics interests,â€
is an individual, independent agency, corporate
entity or other organization that has:
1) Been a National Cyclone Club Member; or
2) Donated money to the athletics department; or
3) Been a season ticket holder; or
4) Assisted in the recruitment of a prospect; or
5) Been involved in promoting ISU athletics; or
6) Have assisted in providing benefi ts to studentathletes
or their families; or
7) Attended ISU as a student
Once identified as a booster, you retain that identity.
ONCE A BOOSTER, ALWAYS A BOOSTER!
Please define good faith. It is used everywhere. I have good faith that CPR can win six.Because the Compliance Office knows that we have threads about contacting recruits, CW posting this on their behalf is probably considered a good faith effort of "enforcement."
Time for me to tweet to all recruits to go to Kansas and forward those tweets to the NCAA...
