Not sure why Todd Helton and Gary Sheffield can't get enough votes especially since neither have been tied to PED scandals. Helton hit .316 for his career, yeah I get he doesn't have 500 HR as a 1B but 369 is not too shabby either. Sheffield has 509 HR and .292 career BA. Both to me just seem like easy votes.

Rest of the guys on that list that fell short I think are fringe HOF candidates anyways. I don't think A-Rod and Manny get in because of the PED stuff unless something changes perception about that era.

Not a fan of the extra inning rule. It's too easy to score without a base hit. aka a grounder to 2nd and a sac fly.

I wish they experimented a bit. Instead of 2nd, put the runner on 1st base.

Putting a guy on 2nd IMO is pretty random. Just a random a determining a winner using a HR Derby. IMO it favors teams with hard throwing relievers.

Looking at the 2019 season before the rule was implemented, I counted 203 extra inning games out of 2430.

10: 90
11: 56
12: 20
13: 15
14: 7
15: 7
16: 3
17: 1
18: 3
19: 1

So 10 and 11 inning games make up 72% of all extra inning games. Absolutely ridiculous to put a runner on 2nd right away. I'd rather not have the runner at all, but if we're going to have it, wait until at least the 12th.

Maybe runner on 2nd with 1 out?

Was there something in the CBA about this? Was the union pushing for this?

So apparently it's about protecting pitchers' arms and reducing the number of position players pitching and not about keeping game time reasonable. Wasn't game time the main issue when the extra runner idea was first talked about?

I'd rather there just be more pitching flexibility on days immediately following an extra inning game. Like being able to put pitchers on a 1 day rest list and bring a person in their place to pitch off the taxi squad.

Better idea then what is happening. Manfred sucks.
