How are you doing in the course? If you are doing poorly that may be why he called the meeting. Either that or he has some questions regarding the essay that has kept him from deciding on a final grade. If you didn't cheat, you have no reason to worry.

To see if it was accused of plagiarism through software. I just did it. The first thing that came to mind was that he thought I plagiarized so I checked to make sure if anything came up.
If it really passed copyspace then I wouldn't worry too much. He might want to just discuss what you could do better and let you rewrite it.

I wouldn't mention that you checked it. You wrote the paper and should know without having to check it. That sent a huge red flag up for me as someone that has taught undergraduates.

Could also be the case that OP completely misunderstood what was supposed to be written about, and the prof may be giving the OP a chance to redo it.

I wasn't gonna tell him I had checked, but a paper in high school was flagged as plagiarism one time accidentally so I did it for this one.

I got caught copying a paper in high school. Got a zero on the paper and dropped my grade from an A to a C. It was dumb.

Of course he would know, but maybe he was trying to see if that was why the prof had an issue?

This too. I have called students in to give them a shot to redo the paper when they clearly didn't understand the project.

Keep positive and just see what they want.
