If you didn't cheat, you have no reason to worry.
I wouldn't mention that you checked it. You wrote the paper and should know without having to check it. That sent a huge red flag up for me as someone that has taught undergraduates.

This seems the most likely.Could also be the case that OP completely misunderstood what was supposed to be written about, and the prof may be giving the OP a chance to redo it.

Of course he would know, but maybe he was trying to see if that was why the prof had an issue?
