IT'S DONE! Jeff Tarpley from aggieyell.com reports: Texas A&M IS going to the SEC. Future of football in Texas unknown. Wow.

Source: Big 12 has contacted another Texas school about joining up. It's not Frogs as they're headed to Big East. SMU? Houston?

Rice or Houston would be my guesses.

If so. The BOR meets on Aug 22 to approve the System budget. Something will be on the agenda posted on Aug 19. They hope to have this complete/announced formally by Sept. 1.

Where they love the governor
At this point, I think I'm glad to be rid of them. True, Texas still controls the conference, but Aggie just looks stupid and petty. If OU stays, we stay viable and can start picking up new members.

Look for Oklahoma to also make a move. I have thought all along that Texas views itself as an independent. I could see them going out on their own.

I agree with those that say picking up another Texas school is pointless. Why don't we just stay at 9? Honestly it's not that big of a deal.

I hate to say it but I am with you. I think this is just the beginning of the collapse. OU, OSU and maybe TT to the Pac 10, SEC may pick up Missouri if others start to bail.

Couldn't they have least waited for the first tier rights to come around for negotiation?
I wonder if the reason they will add another Texas school just to have another Texas school in the conference to replace the one that left.

Texas A&M fans are delusional. Its like if they go to the SEC than the Longhorns cease to exist. They have not won a bowl game in 10 yrs and think they are God's Gift to football. Have fun competing with Vandy at the bottom of the SEC.

At least I never have to hear Gig Em' again.

Or see their extremely annoying marching band.

The only school from Texas I'd consider is Houston but I wouldn't even do that. Staying at 9 might work for the next couple of years but I don't think it's a long term option. I'd like to expand by the time our next TV is up, so 4 years from now.
