Good to have the guys out there getting experience in the offseason. It is disappointing to place so few and not get anyone into the semis but some are getting a ton of matches in.

I'm a little surprised by our showing to be quite honest. Read Bufs preview/thoughts and was hoping for better. But agree that matches are equally important for a lot of these younger guys.

4 guys in the Cadet finals I have heard Iowa State is looking at. Roman Bravo Young, Travis Wittlake, David Carr, & Gable Steveson. I think they will all be juniors

For those that followed the event, what are your thoughts on Boston, Simmon, Hall, Wesley, Meeks, Brireno, Straw, Rodriguez-Spencer, Diblasi, Breitenbach, Entzel, Swalla, Strickland, Hilleman, Egli, Harrington performances?

I was focusing on the lighter weights to see how Boston, Simmons and Hall perform. I thought that Boston & Simmons would go deeper in the bracket and that was disappointing. Hall missed weight so him placing 6th place seems about right considering he's small for that weight.

I also thought Boston would go further at 57 Kg.
Simmons losses are to Graff and Forys. Neither is a bad loss.
For DiBlasi, Breitenbach, Straw and Harrington to make Round of 12, I thought was good.
Hilleman and Swalla, I think it was good to see them competing.
Overall, I think there was some decent results and progress. Would have liked to see a couple more place

How is it that Hall couldn't make the equivalent of 135ish? Very odd.

Loved seeing the numbers participating in this tourney. Great way to get better and I love some competitive June wrestling. That's the number 1 thing to take away from the weekend. However, the results do underscore a somewhat harsh current reality.

I thought Hall's weight was odd too. Great participation for the clones, but not great results overall. Would have thought we'd have a couple more placers in people like Simmons, Boston, and Harrington. Not seeing the development of these young guys that we should be.

Really? What did you expect? Hawks had 5 in semis. Of course PD3 would have won it all if he had gone....as he said he was....

Well, considering he has a HH win over Brooks at this tourney last year, he probably would have been the #2 seed, and you're probably right...he would have beaten McIntosh.

Considering how thoroughly Downey was handled by Pfarr twice this year, he'd be lucky to make it through an entire match with McIntosh.
