The Cars are one of those bands with a sound totally of their own. I don't think I appreciated them as much when I was living through it, but I do now. Also, had a buddy who could have passed for Rick Ocasik

My son sent me a video by the punk band Soft Play and that led me down a rabbit hole to other newer punkish bands like Viagra Boys.
For those who don't know Soft Play, they are a British punk band originally called Slaves until they changed it for obvious reasons. Punk's dead is a song about some of the negative feedback they got as a result of the name change:



And the Viagra boys are a Swedish punk (post-punk) band:

Those songs? No. Those bands? Not what I traditionally think of as punk, but that is what they are being labeled as. Take it up with them, I don't really care what label is used.
