He wasn't trying throw at Chipper? Come on, nobody with at least one eye is going to believe that...

Here is what I don't get about Ramirez, if he agreed to a trade he has a clause in his contract that makes the 2012 season garunteed at $16. Cubs can decline that option (which they will) and buy him out. There is no way anyone is paying him the $14 mil a year he made this year. Like I said, not against bringing him back but I would hope it would only be for about $10 mil a year for no more than 2 or 3 years because he's just not the player that can carry a team offensively to deserve any bigger of a contract than that.

I'd be surprised if Ramirez is still with the Cubs come Sept 1st. His kids are all off to school apparantly so he no longer has any personal objections to getting traded and he'd be a big upgrade for a lot of teams.

Like who?

Josh Vitters comes to mind, after this season - He has potential to hold that position. Needs a little more practice in AAA, but he has the potential to hold that spot for a long time. Avg. .278/ ops. .864

Ryan Flaherty - Avg. .270/ ops. .814
Scott Moore - Avg. .333/ ops. .839

Currently, Blake Dewitt

NOT saying we should trade, but then again - Cubs need to move payroll and get a building block around young guys on the farm. Get players that can be mentors.

Ramirez wont get traded in the off-season, its nearly impossible. The Cubs have an option on him after this year, so they will either let him go (with a buyout of $2 Million), or pick up the $16 Million option. There is no way they pick up the option, and than trade him. I dont think Jim Hendry is that dumb...
