Took a peek at Canes Insight to see what they think of us.

Miami v. Iowa State - Sweet 16

So they’re the next to lowest seed left. What’s the scoop on them? First year coach. They were something like 2-22 in ‘21. Two respectable tournament wins so far though.

In a nutshell, they seem to respect us but expect to win. They think we are slow, poor on O, and are basically poor man’s Texas Tech. Maybe that’s true.

What scares me is their breakout, transition offense. They blew up Auburn yesterday with counterpunch after counterpunch. KU crushed us in similar fashion at Hilton. Gotta make our shots count and avoid telegraphing passes.

Thought this seemed like a fun and dumb debate topic. Dan Patrick mentioned ISU in his opening monologue today and called ISU a "Cinderella" along with St. Peters. Clearly St. Peters qualifies, but does ISU? I get that double digit seeds in the sweet 16 are generally considered "Cinderellas", but ISU had been ranked in the top 10, has an elite top 10 defense, and up near the top in quad 1 wins. So what do you think? I'm not upset if people refer to ISU as a "Cinderella", just not sure it qualifies IMO.

MILWAUKEE — I write the following with all due respect. The 2021-22 men’s basketball team is the most overachieving group of athletes I have ever covered at Iowa State. 



However, that didn’t really appear to be the case in Iowa State’s 54-49 victory over Wisconsin on Sunday night in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32. In front of a 90 percent Badger crowd (my estimate), T.J. Otzelberger’s group of junkyard dogs were simply better than the co-Big Ten champs. 



Pretty cool. 



Iowa State’s perimeter pressure suffocated Wisconsin’s guards from the opening tip, and it was all by design dating back to last summer.

Is the biggest p^ssy-a$$ed b!tch I've seen play college basketball in 30 years of watching it. He embarrassed himself and UW with his incessant crying, mugging, pouting, and holding the ball after fouls which should've earned him at least one technical. I really hope TJ would bench one of our guys if he acted HALF that sh!tty during a game. I remain a Wisconsin fan but that punk is straight garbage.
