  • Yes, keep the rivalry yearly.

  • No. Every other year is enough.

I was thinking about Farmageddon (because duh?) and the fact that it isn't a protected rivalry. What would you think if ISU and KSU scheduled each other in years they don't play a conference game? I personally would love it, but can think of plenty of competitive reasons why it might not be the best choice.

Also, if you don't like that, what about scheduling closer "big" schools like Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, instead of scheduling the yearly FCS and G5 opponent?

What if college basketball ran conference realignment? The Athletic article

From The Athletic webpage....may be behind a paywall:

"What would the college basketball landscape look like if the sport were self-sufficient? I set out to reconstruct the entire layout of Division I with that hypothetical as my guiding principle. Perhaps the most important rule to fall back on is that of a truly balanced schedule. Double round-robins (in which each team plays a home-and-home with every other team in its league) are fading out of college hoops, with fewer and fewer leagues still retaining that schedule purity. Bringing back the double round-robin would enhance the meaning of the regular-season championship, so I am allowing a maximum of 11 teams in each league (which would create a 20-game double round-robin).

Included next to each conference is the members’ average Net Rating per KenPom over the last five seasons. I used Net Ratings as a loose guide to ensure each league remained somewhat competitive as I swapped members."

Nebraska drops to a minor conference:

CF Founder and Lind Family In Need of Support

It’s far beyond humbling, and the last thing I ever thought I’d do, but it would mean the world to our family if you could take a minute to read the linked GoFundMe.

Just taking the time to read and share would mean a lot. Without a social or social media network of our own, any sharing of the link would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve always been an open book and used CF as a diary of sorts. As I’ve stated from the start 20 years ago, and repeat to this day, you truly are family to us and we couldn’t ask for a better support network than we’ve had from all of you over the years.

Any bumps to this post would also be very much appreciated as conditions will continue.

Thank you,
Jeremy, Rhonda, Isaac, Eli

P.S. - Please note that due to the emotional and personal nature of contributions and/or sharing words of encouragement, I plan to refrain from posting personal thank you notes in this thread. My wife and I would rather jointly provide individualized, heartfelt thank you notes via the GoFundMe portal.

All Quarter Century ISU Wrestling Team

I've enjoyed Flo's series picking their all quarter century wrestlers at each weight. It's the dog days of summer and wrestling news is slow, so I thought we could do the same here.

Who is your top/favorite/best Cyclone at each weight from 2000 to today? No other criteria than that. There is a great ISU wrestling history book listing all Americans, etc at Cyclones.com if you need a reference book. I'll provide mine once I figure it out, but it won't be as easy as I first thought.

Williams & Blum: The big picture

Matt Campbell’s “new” contract. Scary headlines. Football camp updates, plus some basketball practice notes. Chris Williams & Brent Blum cover it all on Sunday’s show, presented by Mechdyne.

Smoking Meat Questions and Discussion

Hello all,

I have been following the site for a few years and decided to make an account to pick your brains. I have seen a bunch of posters call others out for not putting threads in the correct forum, so I put this in off-topic.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what kind of smoker to get for a first time user? I love the taste of smoked meat and wanted to purchase one and give it a shot. From what I have seen online a good one for a beginner is a Weber Smokey Mountain 18'. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks
