"DING" DING" "DING"........Lack of motivation from a coach reflects the motivation of the players

Where can I find this half time "motivational" speach from Dmac? I'm having a difficult time falling to sleep tonight.

Whoa Whoa Whoa. We've been down this road before. Does Wayne Morgan ring a bell.

Sorry but rather have Wayne back right now than McD. Morgan at least ran uptempo pressing style and won games. AND was a great recruiter...was the one that got us Wesley I believe, before he defected to become an all-american at the Cuse!!! McD is LOSING recruits at a rapid pace last I looked!! And his slow paced plodding UNI style doesn't work in the Big XII last I noticed!!! IF all that Morgan had against him was the schedule controversy....I'll take that any day for a winning ball club and respect once again in our own conference!!

Dayton coach? Why would we go after another mid major coach?

I would say this sounds good in theory but let us not forget..... Lickliter came from a similar situation and won coach of the year at Butler but when it comes to major conference play and recruiting.....look at him now???? Don't need another one of those type of mistakes in the state, especially in Ames right now!!!

I think JP should give coach at least until after next year before pulling the plug.

As an aside, does anyone else skip the reading of posts once you see the name Wayne Morgan? Because I sure do.

You must not like winning bb games then?? Morgan was THE #1 recruiter for Syracuse before he came here....the whole schedule controversy doesn't hold water for me as ALL Div 1 teams(at least good ones) hire scheduling coordinators......Am I missing something he did wrong here????

Don't get me wrong here.....I know several donors and ISU supporters for years but.....they all say the same thing..."McDermott and Pollard are both the nicest guys ever but they don't know what they're doing in the Big XII!" This is a job for the big boys.....AND as far as I'm concerned, McD has done NOTHING....AND all Pollard has done good is hire Rhoads AND THAT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS FORCED TO BECAUSE CHEEZDIK LEFT MAKING HIM LOOK LIKE AN ***!!!!!!

Elgin Cook and DeMarcus Phillips will both be good for us. The problem is we have good players RIGHT NOW and we aren't winning. That's the scary part. We have 2 legitimate NBA caliber players, a 3 year starter at PG and a good post at 6'11" and we can't win games. That HAS to be coaching. There is no other explanation.

Agree. I am sick of this horrible basketball. Get him out of here after the failed season. Look for potential coaches now.

Pony up the cash and I'm sure Pollard will listen. This poll still shows 42+% of the fans on here would elect to keep him around. I would think that you would either need a major donor to pay for the buyout and/or the pulse of 75% or greater of the fans want him gone.

I realize we don't look like we are improving, but I can't see how we are getting worse. The talent is better, the results are practically the same or a bit better so far. Personally I think McD has the program in a better state than it has been in 15 years except for the winning thing. I'm of the opinion he will be here for at least one more year, and maybe two unless one of the two things above happen.

With that in mind I have to think that constant ******** will do nothing to improve the results on the floor. It makes one feel that they shouldn't go to games, which keeps Hilton dead. It makes the players that read this stuff get down, which only turns into even less enthusiasm and hustle. It just goes on and on.

I get the frustration, what I want to know is what can this non-stop complaining do at this point of this season?

Fine...then someone tell these donors to pony up because they are a joke compared to the big boys of donors in the conference.

You get what you pay for. Right now we can only afford noobs that appear solid or a no namer no one has heard of. And no I'm not okay with that. But I'd you're not going to give the school enough money to compete financially with the big boys then shut it.

The highlighted sentence above really made me laugh.

"...except for the winning thing"....apparently "the winning thing" is not all that important to a sizable portion of Cyclone fans.

You are happy with how the program is running right now? You have got to be kidding me? Winning apparently is not important to you. Winning is all that matters to me.....and WINNING A LOT..and this guy is not even close. What has he freaking done to make you think that any of this **** is going to change? Hilarious post....made me laugh.

The more I think about the financial side of things (due to Macs contract and the current state of the economy), the more I believe he'll be here for two more seasons after this one, no matter what kind of win-loss totals we put up.

Regardless of how things go down for the remainder of the season, it's going to be interesting to see how he molds this next generation of Cyclone b-ball players into a cohesive basketball machine. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to think that he could pull off some big wins between now and then. More and more I'm of the opinion that we (the Cyclone fan base) just need to chill out and let our coach work his amazing UNI magic on our current roster before firing the guy.

Greg McDermott's future at Iowa State Saturday, 23 January 2010 A lot of rumors are surfacing around the Big 12 concerning Greg McDermott's future at Iowa State. Regardless of what you hear, McDermott's job is in no trouble at all. He will be in Ames next season.
