There is a closed door scrimmage today that I will have the privilege of watching. If its anything like last year, it will be pretty tight lipped, no cameras, cellphones arent supposed to be out, just sit and watch. I will do my best though to come back with some information that may be vague, but hopefully informative.

What time is it?

That's great, Cyby. I'd love to get a chance to hear some pads poppin' in a live scrimmage, especially the pads on our young LB crew.

Here's to no injuries today..... (knock knock knock)

Thanks CyByAssc. Is the scrimmage a full game simulation 1's vs. 2's? or is this going to be one of those situational scrimmages where you do 3rd and 5, 2nd and 15 etc.

I just don't get all the secrecy? Iowa holds an open scrimmage today that is free, and they are ranked in the top 10 in nearly every poll. It would seem that they would have a LOT more to lose than us? Besides, they will rake in an UNREAL amount of money through concessions alone. I guess we have all the money we need?

I know they want people to be forced to join the Gridiron Club, but concessions alone would raise a LOT more money than the people they will get to join the GC will today.

And why not let people talk about what they saw? It is still worth something to see it live in person than it is through word of mouth, so the incentive would still be there for people to join the GC. I guess getting to see the Cyclones is only for the privileged few? That's unfortunate. Maybe now we know why more people aren't Cyclone fans?

Iowa has a lot less to show. They have been running the same offense for years and their defense is very plain and very good. Maybe CPR has some things he is working on, or maybe he doesn't like all the internet speculation about who will be playing where.

CPR has been in coaching for a long time, and I am sure he has a fist full of reasons to have closed practices and scrimmages. I know Hayden alway did this early in his time at Iowa, so it is not without precedence.

Sorry...but that was silly.

Most are not ISU fans due to far too many wide rights and bball transfers.

With the water problems, would concessions make a lot today?

And what does Iowa really have to hide? Their offense is pretty predictable.

Seriously... were you going to ask for a cup of drinking water out of the tap or what?

All this secrecy crap is just dumb IMO. You may not agree with me, but that's my opinion.

Have an open scrimmage for the fans. If you want to run it mostly vanilla, then fine, do it. You can hold "secret" scrimmages in the indoor practice facility anytime you want to and not let anyone in.

And don't tell me it's not CPR's job to please the fans, only to win games. That's not true. Without fans, you have nothing.
