Basketball is a much more complicated game than judging a team by how you saw its players play on different teams. It's a team game, and a much different dynamic. Some players make others better, some players make others worse. The most accurate way to judge a team is to see them play together, not by saying you saw five of the guys play but all on different teams.

Perhaps I was too obtuse. They are fine for their division and I am not running them down. But you can't take anything out of this game other than just enjoyment of watching it and seeing the new guys. They were brought in here to give our guys someone to run against, and that is great. Good experience for the UD kids. Just totally different level of basketball, and I everyone understands that.

FUN stat of the night. There were 28 games in the McDermott era where we scored 57 points or less in a whole game.

This is just going off of what I remember from last year's play against a team on the same level of Dubuque but:

We look much better this year and I'm not just saying that because it's 56-19 or whatever. The ball movement is for this game, at least, pretty much better than any ball movement i ever saw in the McDermott era.

Of course you can't take too much out of this game, but there's things to look for..such as: ball movement, off the ball movement, shooting, etc.

Our ball movement is at times better than i ever saw int in the GMac era no matter who we played.

Moving the ball with the pass, maintaining proper spacing when somebody drives into the lane, and actually allowing players to crash the offensive glass. All things which are refreshing to see and were disturbingly absent during the GMac era. And this is from a guy who likes McDermott and wishes things would have worked out for him here.

Let's not forget that our two exhibition scores from last year were 96-47 and 106-54.

I'm happy we're matchign up against last years team. Going .500 would have amazing this year. 3/4 of our points last year we're scored by people no longer on the team. If we can match up against that then this is progress.

Good hustle on both ends of the floor, and they are playing together good regardless of who is on the floor. I understand that it will be different when we actually play a different team, but I like the way we move and look for each other.
