Announcement tomorrow. 7 years $2.2m/year. He's now earning the same as Coach K after finishing .500 in the B12. Maybe he'll supplant Coach K as the next USA Men's Basketball coach too. He managed to screw MU and Arkansas at the same time. A little menage a trois, if you will.

Before people start jumping up and down and giggling with glee too much, just keep in mind that Mizzou could possibly bring in a whole lot better coach than Anderson.

Not that I really care, because just like I said about not caring about the possibility/reality of TT hiring Gillespie because I'm more concerned about what's going on at ISU and "we'll just beat their arse too", I feel the same way about whoever it is that Mizzou gets to replace Anderson (unless, that is, somehow they talk Kryzezewski or Williams or Self into coaching in Columbia).

Correct. This point was made in the other "Anderson to AK" thread (did we need new thread?)

Correct again...

Looks like the stars are aligning for ISU to make a move up the conference pecking order next year.

-Gillespie's strength is recruiting so his effect on TTech won't show up for a year or two.
-Missouri will take a step down now.
-I'd assume Baylor will be the undisciplined mess they usually are.

That upper-mid tier of the conference (or better?) is ripe for the taking.

It's the style that I want gone. Unless you are top tier talent, it's very hard to beat Mizzou with that style.

I think is this good for Anderson and good for Mizzu. I don't know if he's that great a coach and for that kind of money, cut him loose.

Mizzu will get a good a good coach. Sorry to rain on everybody's parade.

Yep. Its not exactly been quiet that they were willing to pay Anderson well if he does leave. That money can pay for a good range of solid coaches.

I don't see any reason to get too excited over this. Anderson has done a good job at Miz, but he isn't a great coach. Miz has the resources as the only major-conference school in the state to be a lot better than they have been. They can do a lot better than Mike Anderson. That said, they could do a lot worse as well.

I just don't think it's anything to get too worked up about right now. Same with BCG at Tech, and whoever OU hires (Buzz Williams?). Now our coach will be ahead of 1/3 of the league in building his program, and Drew and Ford may not last more than another year or two at BU and oSu. We're in a very good position right now.

I'm sure they will, the hope is a little turnover in roster will set them back a little. Or ever better they hire that guy that looked like the dorky elf that wanted to be a Dentist again.
