This story isnt over. Hell, it wouldnt surprise me if this blew up this week. Since monday things have been mostly legal details behind the scenes, but id bet TAMU and the SEC both want this done by 9\1.

Plus, this thread is the second longest thread on CF. You cant shut it down now.

No you can't. There are still posters out there that haven't given there opinion on how the super conferences should be aligned.

I think there should be 18 4-team conferences. We should be in a conference with Rutgers, BYU, and Texas Tech.

In the best interests of college football... all of the teams should realign into a bunch of 9-team regional conferences. 8 conference games and 3/4 OOC games. The winners of each conference could enter a playoff to determine a National Champion. OOC games could be decreased to 3 for 11 games total, to offset for extra playoff games. Too bad it will never happen because of $$$.

Agree, also if 16 or 18 team conferences happen most will go to 9 game conf schedules which means there will be fewer good games early in the season like the OU v FSU game. With everyone playing an 8 game conf schedule will allow more opportunity to schedule these kinds of games.

Actually that would be best, but this isn't what's best for college football. If this goes to 16 team conferences it will be because the big boys want a playoff and they don't want to share with the others. That's why talk of larger than 16 team leagues is just a dream.

Bleacher report actually had a good article that sums up the expansion process pretty well. I thought all bleacher report did was get 3rd graders to make fun of schools for different reasons.
