Latest rumor (and take with a grain of salt as always): OU, OK St, KU and Mizzou talking to Pac-12 ffrankthetank111 Frank the Tank

Would a Pac expansion that does not include the Horns give those teams any more money than they would make in the Big 12? Doubt it.

That would leave less options for the B1G if they wanted to expand.

Interesting. So in that case I'm assuming Texas would walk as an independent leaving ISU, KSU, Texas Tech and Baylor looking for homes? Seems like an opening for the Big East then to add a western division to pair w/ TCU. Would they pick us all up (going to an odd 13) with the assumption that one current Big East team would be poached by the ACC if/when the SEC takes one of their teams? What a cluster **** house of cards this whole thing is.

The problem with Texas going indy is that they would have nowhere to place their Olympic sports.

It would be hilarious to see them go to the SEC if the Big 12 fell apart. Aggie would cry.

Oregon plays LSU in JerryWorld tomorrow. That's why he is headed to Dallas. Major game on primetime.

This is true....without a doubt this is probably why it is headed there, however, just the thought of Larry Scott being in Dallas would make me nervous if I were a Big 12 fan right now.

How can you possibly know this? Anything I've seen from OU has stated that they're committed to making the Big XII work, preferably with 12 teams. Adding a national championship team like BYU and two large schools in desirable states outside the Big XII footprint like UCF & ECU would seem to stabilize the conference pretty well.

This tweet pretty much confirms that OU and the P12 are talking:

Adding non-AQ schools (except for BYU) devalues OU's revenue share which is why they would go for the P12.

Plane is owned by the former Oregon AD. I don't even know why anyone would assume Larry was on it.

Yeah, I would assume that OU is talking to the Pac. They want a contingency plan in case the Big 12 doesn't land anyone. I would bet JP is talking to the Big East and/or DeLoss Dodds too.

Really? Because I just read "One Big 12 administrator told Orangebloods.com Big 12 staying together has 70% chance; Pac-12 raiding B12 a 30% chance." Nowhere in that does it state that OU & the Pac 12 are talking. I know there was that article in the Tulsa World a few days ago where Stoops mentioned the Pac 12 as an option, but he clearly stated that it was only an option if the Big XII fell apart. I'm sure Pac 12 & OU have had talks, but primarily as a contingency plan.

I also read Chip's tweet before that, "I'm told Texas and OU are still working to hold the Big 12 together and that reports of those schools and the Pac-12 would be premature."

Yep. I think OU honestly wants to bring in teams that would bring the conference back to where it needs to be, but if it can't be done, theyre prepared to go west.
