The Big East will be another Conference USA when this is all said and done. If Syracuse and Pitt are gone, with FSU staying put in the ACC due to higher exit penalties, the SEC will grab WVU. Let's hope the reporting that Baylor and ISU reached out to the Big East was just the BE breaking some silence on some old news from the past couple of weeks. If it's going down like this, let's hope Pollard can shift to plan B...or C....oh who the **** knows!

UCONN would never go to Big Ten. They are not AAU and not ND. Only AAU school left not in ACC, PAC 12 or SEC would be ISU.

Wow...I didn't know this. That is a plus for us if you ask me. It's hard to believe we'd be the only AAU school left out in the cold.

My feelings as well. It will soon be a minor league conference, picked over by everyone. It's just not fair for a school, with a fan following, like ISU.

Unless the Big Ten saves us here's what our new conference of Big 12 and Big East leftovers needs to do:

GRAB EVERY SCHOOL THAT HAS EVER BEEN OR COULD EVER BE GOOD AT FOOTBALL

Add Boise State and BYU for football only. That's priority number one to remain relevant. If they played mostly western teams in the league their travel wouldn't be different than it is now. Add Houston and UCF for the potential they have, maybe even East Carolina.

No it won't.

Three reasons
1. Still an AQ conference.
2. Would be a very good BB conference.
3. Attendance is still much higher in BE schools than CUSA except UCF and ECU and more than likely those two schools would be added.

With that being said, I still think Big 12 survives in some form, we collect exit fees and leftover Big East teams join us.

BE is TOAST.

PRAY for the following:

This could work in our favor for the Big 12 to survive. Our best case scenerio:

-OU and UT stay

-TCU and Louisville realize the BE is gone....which it will be if Pitt and Cuse leave

-We add TCU, BYU, and Louisville for a 12 team conference in 2012-2013 with more schools to add later

-Equal revenue sharing minus individual school networks, so the LHN stays

I believe this is our best end game and it could work at this point. Guess we'll know more after the UT and OU BOR meet.

Actually, there are a LOT of schools in the AAU not in one of the 4 big conferences. But I think I understand what you're trying to say - ISU is the only AAU school currently in a BCS conference that is in danger of being left out of one of the four big conferences.

Right. I don't think that U of Chicago or Wash U in St, Louis are joining.

I just don't see OU or Texas staying. I see alot of others pinning hopes on this, they don't need to meet with their BOR if they plan to stay. OU is seeking to discuss legal ramifications surrounding conference realignment...do you ponder liabilty/litigation risk if you're planning on staying put, simply put...no. With other conferences on the move...the risk of lawsuits diminish. The dominoes fall rapidly after this weekend/Monday.

You say no to cincy, yet you'd add TCU? No way. Better to go grab USF and get into Florida.

Maybe this rumor of Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC means that they see the writing on the wall and the Big 12 is planning to invade their conference.

The big east folding would put all the power in the Big 12's hands, all they have to do is invite Louisville, TCU & either WVU, BYU or Cinci. Their bargaining power would be minimal. We can restructure the Big 12 and nobody would have to jump on this stupid superconference bandwagon. Like said above, with those teams gone, the Big Easy is over.

The Big 12 or Big East will survive. Let's hope the Big 12 hangs on. With the better contracts I think the Big 12 has the advantage. Best thing for Big East to do is divest the football teams and merge with Big 12. Smartest thing for them to do for the programs that have football. Big East could continue as a BB Conference.
