Someone on Tigerboard said that Chip Brown said that ACC said Tech would not be included if UT came to ACC. And UT told ACC that they were a package deal.

Consider the source.

Yeah....TTech board said Chip is only saying that to save face for Texas and in reality ACC told UT they weren't interested with or without Tech.

This thread has to be a drug! Think I have read nearly 700 pages of this thread and eyes are bugging out. I rarely post, just read. Guess I am to lazy to do research.

I do know this. Most, if not all, options seem to suck on the surface. Truth is, we we can speculate all we want. NOBODY on this thread knows s***.

We are too good of an academic university, AAU, with great athletics in most /all sports and YES, no TV's. (I get it)

It may be next year, two years, five years, but ISU will be where its supposed to be and thats in the Big 10.

Same difference really. Texas isn't going to the ACC, which leaves the SEC as the only major conference they haven't been rumored to join yet.

I think in the end, we'll have some of the old Big East teams and BYU joining the Big 12

SEC doesn't want UT and UT doesn't want SEC. TAMU is going there too. UT's options are getting limited.

I am very disappointed with the PIT/CUSE news. I thought getting BYU/PITT was key to keeping the B12 a major conference. It is starting to look pretty dismal. If UT joins OU to the PAC its gonna be bad.

I have a feeling that UT may see the writing on the wall and jump ship to the PAC with OU. Both of their Regents are meeting on Monday, and it would not shock me at all to see them both move forward with joining the Pac. OSU may get left out and stuck with us.

For UT:

SEC is out.
ACC apparently does not want.
Big East was never an option.
Big 10 - there were rumors about it, but seems very unlikely.
Big 12 - they don't want to be here without A&M and OU

That leaves one place for them to go.

IF the big 12 implodes, might be the best case. That way Tech goes with them, OU and OSU go and it its back to the forgotton 5.

I am not convinced the Pac will take Tech and OSU and get to 16. If they want just OU and UT, they'll say so. The conference has all the leverage and holds all the cards.

It may be us, KU, KSU, Tech, OSU, Mizzou, and Baylor left behind, with Mizzou having a shot at the SEC, but the rest of us stuck with rebuilding the conference.

OSU is going with OU. If OU stays OSU does if OU goes OSU goes. I think Texas has 2 issues with the Pac 12. 1. The LHN they don't want to lose it. 2. The travel/ time zone for their student athletes. Not saying that Texas won't go west but I think that's what held it up last year and what could hold it up this time

This is exactly the same thing that crossed my mind when I first saw Pitt/Cuse news. I've been pretty much calm through all the talk but this one made me just a tad uneasy. I finally decided I'm just gonna sit back, enjoy some CFB today, same with the NFL tomorrow and then see what shakes out on Monday.

I still think the chances are pretty good the Big 12 will survive and become a "satellite" league with UT as the king pin. Bits and pieces from the BE and MWC will be added and UT will think( in there minds) that they will get an automatic BCS bid every year. No way they go to the SEC, they are a 3-5 place team in that league. I think it's all about diluting the competition, which is exactly what we will see if super conference's are what we ultimately end up with.

TTech Scout boards claiming ACC told UT they were not interested.

Down here in TX, I noticed that the TTech fans are getting nervous. Originally, they felt that big brother TX would tow TTech along to any conference TX moved to. It is very doubtful the TX to ACC will include TTech. I am not sold that TTech would be included in a move to the PAC 10. I kind of wonder the same thing for OSU.
