Most are ripping me because they are probably current or former members of the band. I am okay with it.

Not backtracking. Still don't think they add much to games anymore. Think the "varsity" marching band thing at football games is overplayed too.

No, you are being ripped on because you want to get rid of the band. And you are a complete moron. If you want to watch a game without a pep band, drive to Milwaukee and watch a goddamn Bucks game. College basketball games have pep bands. ffs, just admit you're wrong already and shut the hell up.

And no, I've never played an instrument in my life you stupid tool.

I think it is time for the band to go bye-bye at basketball games. They don't add anything that the sound system can't do better. In fact, the speakers pump in something and then the band chirps in and kills the enthusiasm.

And they play the fight song so much that people don't even stand for it every time. I went to the ISU-KU game at Phog and they played their fight song TWICE. We play it 6-8 times a game.

Bands were important before sound systems. Just an antique now.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how ridiculous it is. And everyone else is entitled to berate and belittle such a ridiculous opinion as well...

**** the band - we should not only remove the band from basketball games, but sterilize all of its members to make sure there will be no band for future generations

We win vs. Kansas and the only thing you have to say is get rid of the pep band. Classy.

Most people are too lazy to stand the whole game and too uptight to make that kind of noise. Duke doesnt even have fans like that lol.

It could happen if the students had two choices when they buy tickets.
1. One side Cyclone Alley
2. Other side: Crazy chanting side/Wear whatever you want/Have dudes wave gigantic flags

The band is part of what makes the college atmosphere unique and great.

I know I will get blasted for agreeing with you, but it's just how I feel. The best moments today were when KU called timeouts and they when straight to the speakers. Sadly most of our fan base consists of "Old Fogies"

Remember KID the Old Fogies Have Paid for you to be here:mad::mad::mad:

Old fogies? What game were you at? When the floor was rushed, didn't see a lot of old fogies there. But hey, if you have to say something, don't let facts get in the way.

BTW, if you want to see who gets excited when the band plays, check out the kids around Hilton.

Sigh. The Band plus the sound system work together - adds to Hilton magic - but they could play the fight song a bit less, I agree.

Now I'll get shot down for this, but I generally take a RR break when the "Juke Box" comes on. It was okay the first 20 times I heard it, but oh man, can't they retape something different now.....

The one with the guy that looks like he's completely loaded (or at least has had a good day tailgating) yelling 'we love the cyclones'?

If thats the one you're meaning, then yeah, i dont think i know of anyone that likes that.

That's the one! It's great that he and his business support the Cyclones, but I wish he changed things up a bit...

The only thing I don't like about the band is where they sit. Anyone know why they moved them from the corner spot they'd been in for as far back as I can remember?

IIRC they were moved because they were to close to the visitors bench. It was 2005/2006, not for sure on the year, but from the videos online in 2008 they have moved to their current home.
