I'm curious if we see him at all unless we have foul or injury problems. You have to realize that he's missed out on a lot of practice so trying to integrate someone who is not in game shape and has not been with the team since the arrest happened he is quite a bit behind right now. At most I don't see him playing any more than 10 minutes a game, we already have a pretty set rotation right now and there is no need to break what has been working so far.

This. Right here. I dont get what you people see in Bubu. Nice kid, glad his name was cleared. But this team is playing pretty well right now, and throwing someone out there, who quite frankly, doesnt belong in D-1 for anything other than some garbage minutes, is not a good idea. Hope I am wrong, will be the first to admit it if I am, but he is not a Big XII caliber player...

I will disagree with this. There were games that him in the game made a huge difference. He is a good on-ball defender and runs the point effectively as he's a pass-first PG that has enough speed to drive to the basket and create offense. He's at a huge disadvantage right now because he hasn't been part of this team while suspended so to expect him to pick up where he left off right away is not going to happen.

You do realize that he has been with the program for 3 years(played 2 of those years). It's not like he is a first year player or a freshman that hasn't been part of Hoiberg's system. We still have 14 regular season games left and more than likely 2-3 or more post season games. He has plenty of times to work his way back into the rotation and play relevant minutes for us. He will help our rotation simply because he is a better PG than Clyburn and Naz.

In our 2 NCAA tounament games last year, Bubu played a total of 27 minutes. More than McGee, Gibson or Booker.

I'm hoping that the return of Bubu will give Lucious some needed rest AND decrease Clyburn's minutes at PG. In fact, I see no real need for Clyburn to play the point anymore.

You are already wrong. "Does not belong in D1 for anything other than garbage minutes?" Yep, already very wrong.

I am not going to argue that Bubu as an underclassman was what you need as a starter in the Big 12, but he was a valuable sub. Potential was there to have a chance to be sufficient as a starter as a senior. His presence was huge in some games last year and his injury may have cost us a win in a couple others (which would have likely resulted in not having to play Kentucky in the 2nd round).

Bubu at PG 10 mins a game > Clyburn at PG 10 mins a game

It also allows Clyburn to get some more rest or play more minutes at the 3/4, which is he much more suited for.

I hope the minutes come from Fred pressing more and everyone welcoming a little more rest. If minutes are scarce that means everyone could play more all out when they are out there.

i never have understood the blind lovefest for bubu on here. I'm guessing it has to be because he's an "ames guy".

how many times do you need to see bubu wildly try to drive the lane, bank a poorly timed awkward layup attempt off the shot clock, and then foul somebody scrambling for the rebound to see that he is just not very good. i would much rather see a young guy with potential to develop get time then see bubu running around out there.

If Fred thinks Bubu is good enough to be a Big-12 player, then Bubu is. I trust Fred's judgment.

yea, I'm surprised bubu didn't enter the draft...
Oh, okay, I get it now. You do not actually believe or have put any thought behind your contention, but where just trying to have some fun at the expense of one of our players. Let me guess, next target is Booker for not being the All-Conference player you had convinced yourself he would be?

Why do you have to slam a kid who works that hard for the Cyclones?

kids on the football practice squad work very hard for the cyclones, that doesn't mean I want to see them play on Saturday if they aren't as good as what we're already putting out there.

i watch bubu play and I don't think that he is very good. it is my opinion. maybe your opinion is different, and that's fine.

I think our team is playing pretty well right now with the guys we've had all year. they appear to be coming together at the right time. I don't see bubu making the group better

It is fine to have an opinion, but could you at least base it on reality? If not, expect to continue to get called out for posting your drivel.

The post I quoted wasn't just about not wanting to see him play. It was an unnecessary mean spirited slam. Grow up.
