WAC - Louisiana Tech (1) - Upcoming Big games on Feb. 28 - Utah State, March 7 - New Mexico State, March 9 - Denver. All three are in the top 4 of the WAC. Would need to win all three to cause even a minor stir for an At-Large birth. Their BPI is 70, SOS 188, RPI is 52. Numbers just are not exceptional.

Sun Belt - Middle Tennessee (1) - BPI 43, SOS 125, RPI 28. Have a chance to be an At-Large team. To be safe, they should win their conference tournament.

WCC - Gonzaga, Saint Mary's
(2) - Sant Mary's got the big wins it needed and are now a lock
No Bubble. BYU beat Utah State, but could not beat Saint Mary's. I don't see them beating Gonzaga.

SWAC - Southern University (1) - Class of the SWAC. Does that mean anything?

Summit - South Dakota State (1) - 3 teams still duking it out for the conference championship. Currently, SDSU is in front.

Southern - Davidson (1) - Nice win over Montana. BPI 74, SOS 172, RPI 87. Need to win the Southern Conference.

Southland - Stephen F. Austin (1) - Nice win over Long Beach State. BPI 80, SOS 335, RPI 78. Need to win their conference tournament to get in.

SEC - Missouri, Florida (2)

Bubble - Ole Miss, Kentucky - Great win by Kentucky over Missouri. A season saving win. Ole Miss is falling apart, but got the win over Auburn. Neither of these teams can really afford a loss.

Patriot - Bucknell
(1) BPI 65, SOS 166, RPI 53. Need to win their conference tournament.

Pac-12 - Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, California
(4)

Bubble: ASU, Colorado - Colorado would be a lock, they just need one more win. ASU just can't get it together. They beat Colorado then lose to Washington.

Mountain West - New Mexico, UNLV, San Diego State, Colorado State, (4)

Bubble: Boise State - Still on the bubble due to their upcoming games (Air Force, Colorado State, SDSU, UNLV). Win those games, and you are in. BPI 54, SOS 96, RPI 45. Decent numbers.

Northeast - Robert Morris (1)

OVC - Belmont (1) - Good win over a good Ohio team. BPI 50, SOS 144, RPI 22. Still have a slim chance at an At-Large, but would be best for them to win the conference tournament.

MEAC - Norfolk State (1) - Still perfect

Missouri Valley - Creighton, Wichita State
(2)

Bubble: Indiana State - Nice win over Iona. Would need to win the rest of their games and go deep into the MVC tournament. BPI 78, SOS 61, RPI 61.

MAAC - Niagara (1)

MAC - Akron (1) - Crushed NDSU. Next up is Ohio. BPI 45, SOS 129, RPI 48. Decent numbers, though to be teh most safe, win the MAC.

Bubble: Ohio - Huge game, Feb.27 - Akron. Could not get the win over Belmont. Need the win over Akron. BPI 71, SOS 135, RPI 73

Horizon - Valparaiso (1) Put the beat down on Eastern Kentucky.

Ivy - Harvard (1) - one game head of Princeton.

CAA - Northeastern (1)

Conference USA - Memphis
(1) - On an 18 game winning streak. BPI 20, SOS 99, RPI 18. A virtual At-Large lock. CUSA tournament should worry a lot of bubble teams. If Memphis loses, CUSA gets two teams.

Big Ten - Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Minnesota, Illinois (7)
No Bubble teams. Iowa losing to Nebraska ends that conversation.

Big West: Long Beach State (1) - Lost to Stephen F. Austin. Will need to win the Big West to get into the tournament

Big Sky - Montana (1) - Lost to Davidson at Davidson. Will need to win the Big Sky tournament.

Big South - Charleston Southern (1)

Big East - Syracuse, Marquette, Louisville, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Georgetown
(7)

Bubble:
Villanova - Nice win over Marquette. I think one more win and they are a lock. BPI 61, SOS 31, RPI 54

Big 12 - Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State
(3)

Bubble: Oklahoma, ISU - Baylor is sliding out of the tournament. Oklahoma and ISU just need one more win and they are in.

Atlantic Sun - Mercer (1)

ACC - Duke, North Carolina State, Miami, North Carolina
(4)

Bubble: Virginia- Has lost two in a row, but to UNC, and Miami. BPI 44, SOS 104, RPI 77.

Atlantic 10 - Butler, VCU, Saint Louis, La Salle (4) -

Bubble: Temple - Temple has big games against La Salle, Charlotte, and VCU. They have to win all three to be in. Won the first against La Salle. Just need to keep winning. BPI 62, SOS 46, RPI 50. Decent numbers.

America East - Stony Brook (1)

60 Locks. 12 Bubble teams for 8 spots.

51, I think it had more to do with what other teams did yesterday. For example west virginia fell out of the top 100 RPI.

Not sure how Minnesota can still be considered a lock. Their recent record is horrendous. Talk about a skid.

These don't really matter to us, because we are sitting pretty well right now.

We aren't on the bubble, but with games against Kansas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State coming up, 19-8 could turn into 19-11 and that would put us back on it.

If someone besides Creighton or Wichita St wins the MVC, will one of them get squeezed out?

The amount per conference doesn't matter, but as with any conference tournament, if a random team wins it, a bubble pops. Will that be Creighton or Wichita St's bubble? Not sure, but possible. The selection committee doesn't care if the MVC gets one or four - they just want the best at large teams in the tournament since they don't have control over the automatic bids.

Correct. Beating at least one of those teams would go a long way though. We'll have a good shot at all three, so that's the exciting part.

If ISU does go 1-2 down that stretch, and is sitting at 20-10, I'll still be a little anxious and think that at least one of @ WVU and in the conference tourney needs to be a W for me to feel better on Selection Sunday. 20-12 with a 1-4 finish down the stretch would not be pleasant.

We have at least five games left including the tournament. We need to win at least TWO more. Going 1-4 to close out would not be good for the rpi no matter who we play since the committee has some discretion on who they pick.

Creighton and St. Mary's are far from locks IMO.

Creighton is concerning. I think they are ok, and will get in, but their losses are becoming worrisome. I feel confident about the St. Mary's. They beat BYU and Creighton, which were two wins that were must wins. They have lost one game out of their last 13. RPI 42, BPI 37, SOS 111. Decent enough numbers to get in. They cannot afford to lose their last 2 games. I think they are in good shape. They lose their last two games though, and I would have the same view you have.

Charlotte is out. Leading scorer got kicked off team a couple days ago and they needed this one and got blown out.

Which is why I don't understand why Jerry Palm has them as a 10 seed in his latest bracketology! He also has Temple as an 11 seed, but safely in. Yet he has ISU as a 12 seed in the first four games? That is why I don't give Palm any thought.
