Re: Rashad Vaughn

Idk, I've gone from thinking "no chance" on RV, to "there must be a chance", to "assume there could be a chance", to "don't fall for those 'sources' chance". lol Almost to the point where I've talked myself into not even thinking about him. (oops..guess I just joined the thread, though) Just want ONE of the top PF's we're recruiting to make us happy and then the rest will be icing. Is that too much to ask? Probably....

Not with Fred Hoiberg it isn't.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

My sources say that the last two posts were weak. I'll go ahead and include this one for a total of 3.

Can we get an "Iowa State has no chance" thread from you about RV, please?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I'm starting to think we have a better shot with RV than any our forward prospects.

Vaughn, by the way, was on the #Gophers campus Tuesday. After a few chats, clear that they have a legit shot. Spoke highest of MN, ISU, UNC.
Tbo, this falls in line with what I heard before the source caused a frenzy earlier. I still think KU and UK will be a big factor when he takes a visit there. These things change back and forth, ultimately, it's not over till he says it is. Read his ask twitter, some jerk-off UK fan took a swipe at us, I responded. God I hope he posts my question, you will know which one i am talking about if he answers it.

This is what the UK kid said and what RV replied with.
Kentucky fan here, but what does Iowa State even have to offer?

Considering as of today he was speaking highly of ISU, I'd say it's a good thing.

When did he announce he'd like to play against Fred in bball? Could be relating to that as in Fred is what we offer...

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think RV's situation with Minnesota is a little like HB's situation was with ISU, although it would seem ISU would have been in a better position since ISU's coach's son played with HB and could have come to ISU, and one of his other h.s. teammates was going to be a walk-on at ISU.....but that is a subject for another thread that no one really wants.

RV has to include Minnesota just to be polite I think, but it appears the other two stars in Minnesota (Jones and Reid) are not headed there, so I don't think he is either.....but that is just my opinion.

I think ISU has a good chance. Lots of reasons. Close to home, family and friends.....easy trip to watch his games. He likes CFH apparently.....plus who better to prepare you for the NBA, especially if he is one and done? He would be THE STAR here......no doubt. Won't be sharing the spotlight as much as he would at UNC. Others he knows are being recruited, or at ISU already.....Tyseanna Johnson on the ISU women's team, and recruitment of Reid and Jarvis Johnson. I don't think that last part is a huge deal, but it may offer him some more insights into ISU from people he knows.

Time will tell.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Is this a good or bad thing?

I believe it refers to the CBS article which NCAA hoops coach is best equipped to move to the NBA. Fred coaches an NBA style game, the way he uses players and tries to exploit match ups. For a guy looking to take the next step to the NBA not a bad training ground.

I do hope your 'take' is the right one. I guess I see that Minn would be bigger now for RV due to Jones and Travis going elsewhere. He'd be the one of the 'Big 3' that stayed at home and worshipped, so-to-speak. But, yeah, time will tell. Trying to make assumptions out of that twitter reply..."lmao ask their fans" would be impossible. Can't tell if he's praising our fans' passion for our team and wanting him here or making fun of our fans. I know its 'weak' to beg, but if KU can get lucky and get Wiggins in the last hours, than why can't we get lucky next spring?
