If you just put blinders on to everything that happened after he left ISU...

Despite him not panning out well in the NBA (his own fault really), there's not reason he shouldn't get a pretty nice reaction. Helped get us where we are now, and was a good Cyclone while he was here

I'm willing to bet it will be a nice reaction, yes. But there are definitely gonna be more than a few that won't cheer because of what happened.

If you don't cheer loudly for Royce I would question your intelligence.

His NBA career didn't work out, but he put the team on his back and took them to our first NCAA tourney since 2005.

Regardless of what he did before or after, he was great as a Cyclone and played a big part in the success we're seeing today. I welcome him back.

Awesome. One of my favorite cyclones of all time. Seriously the way some people talk about RW you would think he raped somebody or punched a baby. So what if he is having troubles with the nba. IDGAF.

Dahmer and Royce....Big difference Royce was a great Cyclone, represented us well while here and still loves this place. II know he will get a huge warm welcome when they play the highlights from his year.

He just doesn't have Pierre Pierce skills.

I've always wondered how Royce would have done in the NBA if he had spent one more year here, under the support & guidance of the basketball coaching staff. Would he have learned how to manage his phobia(s) better; matured enough to recognize self-destructive behavior (impulsive, angry tweets...badmouthing employers to the press...refusing to attend practices, etc)? Would have have had more time to prepare himself for the transition to highly paid athlete with no way to know who his real friends are vs who just wants something from him?

Eh...I'm waxing philosophical on a Monday morning. I will happily cheer for him if he is recognized at the game...as others have said, he was an excellent representative of ISU while here.
