Re: Rashad Vaughn

ISU is probably better off finding the top 100 talent that transfers after a year or two, then sits out for a year learning the ISU system while turning their body into a 21-22 year old man versus a 18 year old kid who has barely seen a weight room. Or developing a guy like Niang over 3-4 years. GN has a lot of skill, but not have a NBA body - so he will probably stick around for 4 years and be an All-American before its all over.

Looking at guys like Kane, Hogue and McKay for next year.........those are physical guys that push around these top freshman, just because they have 30 lbs more muslce on their bodies.

But it would be ok, to add a top 10 recruit here and there though.

Not sure about McKay, I have **** turds bigger than him.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Sounds like Rashad is now planning a Kentucky visit... :skeptical:

"Good timing on your question as I just spoke with Rashad Vaughn last night. Vaughn, who said he has no timetable for a final decision, is one of the few difference makers left on the board and he has been playing not only at a high level but efficiently as well. In November, he visited Iowa State and UNLV and enjoyed both visits. He recently set up a visit to North Carolina for the weekend of February 15 when the Tar Heels host Pittsburgh and that would be his third official visit. Kentucky has jumped back in the race and the Wildcats are trying to get him on an official visit. He told me he plans on visiting Kentucky, but has not set up anything yet. If he visits there, that would leave him with one remaining visit with four schools left on his list. Arizona, Baylor, Kansas and Minnesota all pushing for that last visit." per Paul Biancardi

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I would love to land Rashad, but his recruitment process at least from our perspective has been pretty annoying. In protest, I will remove his avatar.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Well, Vaughn seems to be waiting for the spring, which is exactly what he said he would do all along. I would be pretty happy to have him commit to ISU before then, of course. The problem really is that we pay too much attention to the process. After RV I'm hoping to check out on the recruiting hype for the most part. Does no good either way.

Still waiting for the Kentucky recruiting BS to end soon.

It's certainly not the best news, but I'm not too worried about it. Vaughn has always wanted to go somewhere he can be "the man". Pretty tough to be "the man" at Kentucky.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If I got called up by Coach Cal as much as I hate the pr*ck there's no way you tell him to screw off. He's too prolific in the sport that RV loves. There's a big difference between committing to a school and making a visit to a school. He has said he's wanted to use all of his 5 officials so why not take one to one of the top programs in the history of basketball?

RV will not choose Kentucky in the end I can almost guarantee it. I actually think it's a good thing they're getting involved. It will make it that much more satisfactory when he doesn't choose them. Tease those ***holes Rashad. :)

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Cmon State...Kentucky has been recruiting him for a few weeks already and he still has his priorities straight

Rashad Vaughn@ShowtimeMr22h
@mayorswife32 Happy Birthday!!

Just a thought.....This is one of those things that keeps me thinking that we are still the team to beat for Vaughn. How many times has he said now that a huge factor for him is the relationship with the coaches. Yes the wildcats are a very attractive offer to any recruit that they go after. But you know that all Vaughn is to Calipari is another big name to fill the roster in hopes of a championship, if he doesn't land Vaughn he could care less, onto the next. And yes this is just part of recruiting.. but when you have a recruit tweeting the coaches wife telling her "happy birthday", you know the relationship is more than just another recruit to Hoiberg and co. Hoiberg has the tools and the connections to highlight what Vaughn has to offer and get him to the next level. From what I've heard that is important to Vaughn, I don't see what Kentucky has that we don't. I still think we are the team to beat for him.
