Anybody else not have a great feeling about that Kaffey guy doing all of Rashad's talking for him?

You might try standing next to Hogue. He's put together. McKay is a twig.

Those long skinny strong guys are the ones to be afraid of. I'm sure if you were battling with him in the paint for 30+ minutes 'twig' would not be an adjective to come to mind.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

It's certainly not the best news, but I'm not too worried about it. Vaughn has always wanted to go somewhere he can be "the man". Pretty tough to be "the man" at Kentucky.

I know this seems to be accepted wisdom, but has he ever actually said this?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If we get him, it will all be because of his invite to the Ladies of CF social group.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

No 5 star recruit is going to be easy to land. You go to UNC and UK, and those guys make big money because they close kids. We should be nervous, but we are in on him, and are in good position.

This season Fred has our guys playing as a cohesive unit despite a nearly brand new lineup. Guys are developing and Freshman are given minutes. If you are Vaughn and compare that to UNC's struggles, and UK has not played well yet this year, I think ISU is a smart decision.

Also, I imagine his relationship with the players and general atmosphere is important. I think our guys have shown so far that they are here to win. That has to be attractive.

If we get Vaughn I think your expectations go from Sweet Sixteen to Final Four. He'd be showcased.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

This is not the time to get narcissistic. Protest what and/or what good will it do?

No pain no gain 43...no pain no gain.

Amen. We eat or starve

Cmon State...Kentucky has been recruiting him for a few weeks already and he still has his priorities straight

Rashad Vaughn@ShowtimeMr22h
@mayorswife32 Happy Birthday!!

My post was mostly in jest but it is super annoying. Seems strange he would "add them to the list" when there is already a bunch of schools he is trying to decide where to visit. Maybe a free trip to Lexington for a big game is a bucket list for him before he decides to join cyclone nation. Either way, planned on changing the avatar for a while anyway. I don't want to have to change it quickly in mourning if the worst should happen.

Vaughn still comes here. If not, move on, we'll still have a really good team and I bet we land a Kane-quality transfer in the spring.

Go Clones.

Question is whether or not Pete Kaffey stays at Findlay or is going to go with RV. If it's not a 'package' deal, I still like Iowa State as his destination. Kaffey is the one saying everything about Vaughn's decisions right now and that RV is focusing on the season. More than anything, I agree with you that I think Kaffey is the one angling for a job somewhere and that Vaughn may already have his mind made up after he makes his visit to UNC.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn texted a reporter saying that Kentucky is back on his list. Now considering eight schools.

Vaughn’s eight choices are now Arizona, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina and UNLV.

What do the UNC/KU/UNLV/Minny/BU fans say now? There are only five official trips.

This, and this alone, is why I think Hoiberg would leave for the NBA. I couldn't stand having to deal with 18 year old kids playing games. All this back-and-forth and non-commitments is getting annoying. Frankly I'm sick of it. Make a choice and let's all move on.

If RV really wants to come here he should say it up front. If he doesn't he should tell us and move on.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Based on being an ISU and getting how many kicks to the stones, I just don't have a good feeling. I hope I'm wrong.....I just like that we are in contention with the bluebloods on recruits.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If I got called up by Coach Cal as much as I hate the pr*ck there's no way you tell him to screw off. He's too prolific in the sport that RV loves. There's a big difference between committing to a school and making a visit to a school. He has said he's wanted to use all of his 5 officials so why not take one to one of the top programs in the history of basketball?

RV will not choose Kentucky in the end I can almost guarantee it. I actually think it's a good thing they're getting involved. It will make it that much more satisfactory when he doesn't choose them. Tease those ***holes Rashad. :)
I would.

Exactly. In my mind we don't get him, and I stay excited about those who want to be at ISU. I trust Fred has done all he can, Cyclone fans have shown all they can show at Hilton, and we've left it on the line. If that isn't good enough for him, then such as life.
