What's wrong with that? That money is going to bigger and better facilities for our athletes to use. If the student's pay but don't show up, that's their own fault.
If JP were really ONLY concerned with $$$$$, his tweet would have read "Over 2,100 tix sold...should have been 30,000"
Dance Marathon is like that music festival that causes parking problems at the football game late in the season. Dance Marathon is held on the last Saturday of January. Like the music festival, this event is known in advance when it's going to be held.
Last year, Dance Marathon was held on January 26, the same day as when Iowa State hosted Kansas State with a 12:45 tip. Same situation as today.

except that the students get their money back if they can't get into the game. So the students have no reason to complain.
There has to be a way to address this. Perhaps that section shouldn't be for students. And then maybe student tickets don't get you every game?
That clearly wasn't his point. People definitely shouldn't be calling DM a stupid reason to miss the game, it is a great organization with good intentions. Facts are that probably quite a few missed the game for it. Not all, but probably at least a few hundred.
Lots of students are fair-weather fans. They suck. But don't bash on the people who missed for DM.
Where did I bash the people that went to Dance Marathon? I'm simply calling ******** on the argument that Dance Marathon was somehow responsible for the majority of the empty seats in Hilton today.
exactly. Our student numbers are quite sufficient to have DM covered and also have 2,100 students attend a MBB conf. home game featuring 2 top 25 programs.
....no it wasn't...unless the people that were sitting next to me last year in the upper section were dressed as empty seats.

I don't recall seeing that section ever fuller than it was today minus Michigan, Iowa, and KU games.
Well only 70% can ever be used right because they oversell. By 30% or something right?
