This is underrated. Wrestling doesn't really matter. Cael wasn't run off. He wanted everything and ISU cannot and wouldn't not give him that. PSU would. Chizik and McD were both universally thought of as good hires. Then he took a chance on Hoiberg that a lot of guys wouldn't have taken and time will tell on Rhoads, but that was a risky one as well. His job is to make money. He has done that in numerous different ways.
I would say he cares more about being good at track and cross country than wrestling which seems pretty personal. Wrestling is our most successful sport historically and and we were on the map amongst a very loyal audience in that sport. It does matter. P1ssing away our relevance in the only sport we are a "blue blood" very well could be part of Jamie's legacy. That said he is a great AD, my main problem with me is he cannot control his impulsively . He needs to have a way to let better heads prevail, if he doesn't he will eventually do something he can't survive professionally.

Well, I know some are tired of CA's terrible leadership. Don't have student tix so don't care either way, just another possibility. There's a deeper issue going on if it's another 1k students not showing up.
Maybe they can all go to a therapy session together.

This is a lame excuse. Show the **** up to the games.

Complaining on CF about low student attendance is like standing right outside a polling location on Election Day and complaining about low voter turnout

Students only showed up for IA and KU when McDermott was here because we sucked. Students only showed up for IA and KU when Hoiberg is here even though we are a top 20 team. Common denominator is students only showing up for those games. To heck with the excuses. Makes sense to open up the upper level and sell those seats to all the games EXCEPT IA and KU

its always fun to point fingers, but it really boils down to have a fair weather student fan base.

To be difficult, how much fairer would the weather have to be?
1. Decent day outside.
2. Team that's ranked essentially the whole season.
3. Ranked opponent
4. Grudge match---loss to avenge
5. Third straight tournament trip.

The weather is awfully fair right now.

I really can't believe that people continue to bag on an event that raises money towards cancer

No one's bagging on DM. We're bagging on those that thought that was the reason students didn't show up last week when they've showed time and time again they aren't going to show up anyway

It's the students who ONLY show up for the Iowa, Michigan, and KU games all season long who are the problem with attendance.
