No one can blame McDermott for Morgan getting fired and everyone here wants us to be successful, but ultimately, Pollard may have set the program back many years for "fixing" something that wasnt really broken in the first place..
Great post! I like you already, even if you are brand new.
For me, it's "water over the bridge" in regards to Wayne being fired and McD being hired. It's done with, it's over, it's time to keep on moving forward.
With that being said though, I do sometimes think myself that Pollard may have pulled the trigger a little bit quickly. I do think that McD is a better "x's and o's" and bench coach than Morgan, but I don't know if Wayne should have been fired for having one bad season, as disappointing as it was.
Sure it does. It got old the first time.Over and over and over and over again...it never gets old.
I read this all the time on this board. What evidence is there of this in what we have seen of McDermott at ISU? I guess I watch and I know that we are not as talented as KU but I'm not seeing anything that tells me that McDermott is a great X&O guy in what I see.
Thanks for your explanation of various media sources to access Cyclone coverage. You have really enlightened me. On the second hand, why don't you get your Cyclone info from where you want and I'll do as I please.
I don't "rip" the coach, the players, or the program. But clearly you do care a great deal if anything you perceive as "negative" is uttered on this board...hence the beat down of the opposing voice to your thoughts. You and your friends are the ones that can't take "the facts"...not me. I have seen ISU play on TV several times this year. Frankly, I think many of you might be getting a "McCarneyesque" sales job from McDermott...I'm glad I don't "hear him talk" other than reading his quotes online...it gives me a much more unbiased basis of thought in my opinion.
What good are those NCAA Tournaments that McDermott took UNI to doing for ISU?
Wow...just wow. I'd answer that with specific examples but it would just be pointless and go straight over your head...and most likely lead to 768 more posts questioning whether or not McDermott is the right guy, that basically just all say the same thing.
Yes...that's it...I'm too dull-witted to understand the tremendously complex and certainly highly touted Greg McDermott "system". Thanks for reminding me!
However, I'd still love to hear your complex analysis of the typical ISU set...4 out and 1 in with the 4 out standing stationary and passing around the outside of the 3 point line with an occasional post entry that usually gets kicked back out and a desperation heave as the shot clock expires.
Its posts like this that people dont like. You attack us so we defend outselfs and you attack again. McD is not giving a sales job he is tell us how it is, just listen to him. You say McDs resume isnt impressive, yet when it is given you say it doesnt matter what he has done in the past. How can you form an opinion on a guy that you havnet heard talk much. Some facts we try to tell you is the fact that the pieces are not all in place yet. You say you cannot compair this to coach Orr yet you compair it to everyother rebulid in the country.
I take it you dont like Coach MaCarney, what ISU coach do you like. Who would you rather have as coach and dont say Steve Lavin or BCS coaches. I am sure if they had wanted the job they would have called ISU. Coaches have a way of letting schools know when they are interested. When McD was hired he was wanted by other schools, but he wanted to be at ISU and ISU wanted him. Say what you want to attack me now because I am done fighting with you since it is very clear you want to get the last word.
Well, it's already past my bed time and I still have to put the pins in my Greg McDermott voodoo doll before I hit the sack. I'm out!
You said it all. Terrible decsion.
Where do you buy those things? I need to get one of a co-worker![]()
