Yeah, and no one wants to lose in the Hilton. One can justify losing at the phog but isu doesn't have the name brand yet.
It's the same thing as KU not playing WSU.
That's not it at all. I have stated over and over and Bill Self has stated over and over that Kansas likes to play games against teams from other parts of the country to continue to expand their recruiting base. It does them more good to bring in a West Coast or East coast team for their one game a year at Sprint Center than it does to play Wichita. Last year's opponent in KC was New Mexico. This year's is Utah. Two seasons ago was Davidson. Etc...
Road trips this year are to Temple (in Philly where we pulled the Morris twins from) and to Georgetown (in DC where we pulled Thomas Robinson from).
Kansas isn't losing any Wichita recruits to Wichita State because they lose a game to them. One plays in a joke conference that plays inferior competition and is never on tv while the other plays tough competition and is on tv every night. Both ISU and Minnesota are in major conferences playing good teams and both are on tv about an equal amount. Highlighting who is a better team would in my opinion have more of a negative effect on the loser in an ISU-Minny series than it would in a KU-WSU series.
