The parent of a player who was on the team. Practiced with the team. Was in film study, summer camp, daily practices with the team. The parent of a player who knows 1000% more than anyone on this board. Before you judge based on the walk-on aspect, try reading between the lines. Where there is smoke there is fire. Ignore all the warning signs you want.

No - I'm actually judging on all 3 of those points I listed. A PARENT of a WALK-ON who TRANSFERRED.

Here's some other lines to read through

A completely ANONYMOUS person on the RADIO who may actually know NOTHING.

If you aren't going to put your name on it, don't expect me to buy it.

And I'll just make clear my viewpoint on this - very often those who are further down the depth chart and aren't happy about it (or a parent who thinks their kid is better than he/she is and is ****** they aren't playing more) are the biggest complainers.

I'm not going say there isn't disharmony in the lockerroom. But for ****'s sake - look at the (alleged) source.

Anonymous? He practically said who he was. His son played at Ankeny and was the second leading tackler on the Iowa Western CC National Championship team. He played LB and wore the number 31. A quick reference to the 2013 Roster finds Rob Myers fits this exact bill. Reading his bio, his fathers name is Chad Rouh.

Let's see. We sucked last year. The players contributed to last year's less-than-impressive results. Coaches needed to change (and many are now gone). Players need to change too however some can't handle the change...even though they proved that what they did last year didn't work.

You're going to get fallout when changes are needed. But some players aren't going to buy-in to the fact they the contributed to recent failures because it means they have to man-up and share in the blame.

This isn't really that complicated IMO. You're going to have causalities when you change things up.

To be clear though, he knows 1000% of what his son has told him. Hard to confirm who it was, what the context was, etc.

Maybe the locker room is divided over whether it was a good idea to go to Texas Roadhouse rather than Hickory Park, who knows. But forgive me if I don't jump off a cliff with this revelation.

I have no idea if what is said here is true, but I love how a parent of a former walk on "piles on" when the chips are down. I would be so embarrassed if my parents ever did something like this, even if true. I'll put money on it that the caller didn't give his name.

how many walk ons from ankeny during current era? shouldn't be too hard to figure out, especially when you can xref with mankato state.

I'll give you that, but what do the results tell you? Is this team playing like it's together?

There was a very rocky offseason followed by a horrendous opening loss, and then a veteran player who by all accounts seems like he was a good kid decides to say screw this I'm done. I don't think you need to have a mole inside of the program to know that there is probably a divide growing. That doesn't mean all of players hate Rhoads. I would never suggest that. All I'm saying is that people need to chill with the whole "attack the messenger" nonsense because the evidence suggests there's probably truth in what is being said no matter how badly you want to believe the opposite.

hey section110 what is your hawkeye nation name, because I assume you are over there talking bout how the basketball team is garbage and all the smoke means that a change must be made?

Nice bait. I'm not gonna go after it :twitcy:. Props to you for trying though. We don't need to turn this discussion into another attempt to compare Fran and CPR. We've all been through that one before.

It is my opinion, that at some point in the near future people are going to look back at what's going on right now as the turning point in Rhoads tenure. Maybe some info will come out that fans will actually believe, maybe it won't. That's besides the point. I just think when you combine the losses with the turmoil from the past 6 months it's going to be far too much to overcome.

Again, that's just my opinion. I'm not asking you to believe it or not. I'm just sharing how I feel. Maybe 6 months from now I'll be wrong.

Help me understand. Why do you even care? Why are you so wrapped up in whether Rhoads is the coach or not. You aren't an ISU fan. So why does it matter? Why post incessantly in threads about Rhoads and try to convince people that he is terrible and hurting the program?

Furthermore, why should ISU fans care what your opinion is? Think Oklahoma fans care what the Texas fans think of Stoops? Or Alabama fans care what Auburn fans think of Saban?

He's an Iowa fan that spends all of his time on an ISU board pretending he knows something about football, he lives for this.

Why do you guys respond to him at all? He's probably laughing his arse off at his computer that he gets a rise out of this board. Like the child that screams until you give them what they want. Or...

sorry point me somewhere, where you have said what you think of Fran and I will go look, Since you seem to hate Rhoads and how he is handling the program right now

More surprising to me... He was the second leading tackler on a National Championship JUCO team and had to walk on at a low-level AQ school?

Trolls who, mistakenly, have a self inflated view of their own sports knowledge are my favorite. That and hawk fans who think they're bringing an unbiased "perspective" to ISU fans.
