sorry point me somewhere, where you have said what you think of Fran and I will go look, Since you seem to hate Rhoads and how he is handling the program right now

I'm not going to search for a discussion for you. We both know how that discussion is going to go. This thread isn't the place to have it, and we aren't going to agree so let's save ourselves and everyone else from having to go through it. Deal?

I'd be willing to bet I know a lot more than this radio guy. I eat lunch with players on the team about everyday. No idea what the hell he's talking about.

You guys know this, but winning cures all. Rhoads' rah rah approach was fine with everyone when there were wins attached to it. That was the same with the players as well. Exactly the opposite with Ferentz. His calm demeanor had fans irate when they weren't winning. I've been a part of tons of teams as a player and coach and on both good and bad teams there's been guys quit mid season. I don't like it. Don't agree with it. IMO it says a ton more about the player than it does the coach.

Exactly how I feel. If you quit midseason your just leaving your team behind saying you don't give a **** about any of them.

It is my opinion, that at some point in the near future people are going to look back at what's going on right now as the turning point in Rhoads tenure. Maybe some info will come out that fans will actually believe, maybe it won't. That's besides the point. I just think when you combine the losses with the turmoil from the past 6 months it's going to be far too much to overcome.

Again, that's just my opinion. I'm not asking you to believe it or not. I'm just sharing how I feel. Maybe 6 months from now I'll be wrong.

I know one thing for sure, in 6 months I still wont give a **** what you or any other Hawk fan thinks on the matter.

Yes the parents of a player are close to the team. That being said they also have their kids best interest at heart and see things thing maybe a little different than they really are.

The parent of a player who was on the team walk on. Practiced with the team probably shagged balls. Was in film study, summer camp nope, daily practices with the team. The parent of a player who knows 1000% more than anyone on this board wrong. Before you judge based on the walk-on aspect, try reading between the lines. Where there is smoke there is fire. Ignore all the warning signs you want.

I read between the lines and that is what I came up with. I'd take some quitter walk-ons dad's opinion and stick it. He knows as little as most of the people on here, or even less, because his son is also a quitter.

Here's one for you. A former player's brother told me he would suit up in a second and run through a concrete freakin' wall for Coach Rhoads because he's seen first hand on numerous occasions how much passion the guy has and how much he cares for ever single one of his players. I like that source better.

How many of you actually listened to the broadcast that are complaining about how this guy called in? Go listen before you post. IMO he wasn't ripping anyone. He wasn't piling on. He just briefly spoke about it and seemed to want to talk about his son more than anything. When pressed he answered questions about his son's experience. But for you guys too poopoo this like it has no merit is sticking your head in the sand.

I've been a fan of Rhoads... but if you look at this objectively, there is a lot of evidence piling up that he may not be as effective as we had hoped. I am anxious to see how this team responds Saturday. If we get steamrolled, I think you guys have your answer. I for one would love to see an upset special here. I'm not calling it...but that would cure a lot of ails.

If we look like we did the second half against NDSU...ugh. I may just tailgate the whole game the rest of the season.

Why would the parent of a former player feel the need to call into a joke of a radio show and give his 2 cents? No matter what he really knows and doesn't know, it is just weird to call into a show and give your opinion. The only reason to do so would be to stick up for you child.

A parent of a walk-on from ankeny (and Iowa Western CC) was just on Kxno. His son has left the program and transferred to D2 in Mankato State but what was more interesting is that he said there is a definite separation in the locker room and the kids aren't buying CPR and his Ra Ra speeches anymore...

I hope we don't schedule Mankato State anytime soon. Our secret gameplans might leak out!

Just curious--how does a kid at Mankato State know what the lockerroom is like?

I don't know either. It's a good question. The general answer (guess) is "I'm sure he has friends on the team he still talks to"

I suppose I'll also say that the fact this came across on the morning show on KXNO - well..... That's a lot like getting hard hitting facts from Howard Stern

FWIW - I have a friend whose son is on the team. He lives in Urbandale and his son is a starter on the team as of this coming Saturday and he says the locker room is fine and in surprising good spirits.

While the loss to NDSU sucks ****, it wouldn't call it horrendous. They're the 3-time defending FCS champ playing against a bottom tier FBS team. It wasn't like anyone was really surprised.

And I'm sure this divide you're talking about isn't only at ISU. I imagine a team like South Carolina has a little divide this week after getting smoked by Texas A&M. Divide is everywhere. Every program has a handful of second string guys who believe they should be the starter and since they aren't they hold a grudge against the coaching staff.
No, it was horrendous.
