Too effing many.

Two old cats (14 yo) in the house we have had since kittens. Brothers, one normal shorthair, the other a Maine Coon. Very affectionate, shy, and big hosses, 20lbs+ each.

Wife got a dog abt 5 years ago, rescue dog, used to be at a puppy mill. Toy Pomeranian. Worst. Dog. Ever. Barks at everything. Chases the cats even though they outweight her by 3x. Loves to squeeze out little biscuits all over the house. Used to bite kids and find snacks in the cat box, but has mostly got over that. Once asked the Mrs how long this breed typically lives. Did not endear me to her, but I have the estimated date of departure in my mind.

Daughter got a guinea pig last year, left it here when she went to college. Annoying. Squeals like a banshee all the time. Eats and poops. Dumb pet.

Last but not least is the new kitten. In the house for now, but being moved into the garage to catch mice when she is older in a month or two. Very cute, very active, like all kittens.

Honestly, right now they are all so much work, I wish they'd all kick the bucket (except for the garage cat).

Stared at this for a full minute before giving up and realizing that Bret44 posted a picture that is not an animated GIF! I was so duped.

For those of you bragging about your 20 lb cats...I have to put this one in there:

Smudgy wasn't a Maine Coon. His mom was a short fat tortie, his dad was a rangy yellow tabby longhair, both feral. Smudgy gave it his best shot, though. He was 17 lbs (probably 10 lbs of that was hair)...and he was absolutely convinced he was a lap cat.

Yep that is why I like buying them, because usually the ones they are selling have some sort of "unwanted trait" which means that they can't be show dogs. Their unwanted traits are so small that no one, besides a show dog judge would notice and they are some of the nicest dogs ever. Also they usually discount them quite a bit. However, this time I'm buying from a guy that I know takes care of all his dogs and if he doesn't like the person he is selling to he won't sell you a dog. So if he has any left over puppies he gives them up to be trained as service dogs for free.

Need more people like that in the world.

Wheat? Rye? Pumpernickel? :p

The cats names? Tinkerbelle (female, can be a *****, only wants attention on her schedule) and Meekly (looks very similar to Meekly in Pocahontas, male, our little terrorist, furball that is very cuddly).

"One pure bread Golden Retriever"

;)

And yeah - my Cricket is like that. She'll lay on top of us in bed, snuggle next to us on the couch, but if you pet her, she leaves. And don't even DREAM of picking her up...

Molly, on the other hand, is an attention slut. She's the first female cat living with me that loves to be carried around.

I don't own them but am responsible for the care and well-being of 2,398 pigs right now.

i would like to buy some cows but hey are way too expensive for my taste right now, should have jumped on that train 5 years ago.

The show industry is a joke. The genetics used there are not applicable to anything besides making more show animals. No one wants those genetics in their herd, they want production animals.

i will bet you most would take our sows and clean up boar as their producting heard sires/dam. The AI boars not so much.
