Weber's downfall at Illinois was recruiting. He is and always has been a solid game coach. So far at KSU he hasn't slipped on recruiting yet. Not saying it won't happen down the road.
It's not that clear cut, Weber struggled recruiting initially, but he brought in 9 four star recruits in his last three classes. He figured out the recruiting part, he was getting talent to campus at the end, but was struggling to coach it. Jereme Richmond was the most notable example of a very talented player he just couldn't get through to.
