I have been out of the loop a little but why aren't they red shirting? Its seems like a wasting a year of eligibility for two promising players if they are only going to play in garbage time when we are already down three players. But I hope Fred proves me wrong.

Custer will add minutes as the season goes on and expecting to keep a foreign player 5 years is very unrealistic.

Custer will increase role as season goes.

I think Tsalmpouris will be a situational player mostly this year.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that no one will ever redshirt? Unless there's an injury or something like that, Fred will no longer recruit a kid that has to redshirt.

SDW redshirted. You're probably saying from now on, but still.

Fred has proven people wrong with every doubt they have had. He knows what he's doing. Custer is the only other point guard on the roster.

Custer missed like what--3 weeks with mono?

Probably a big deal for a freshman. I hope to see him more too, and I'd bet we will. But... does Monte even need rest? Kid's a freak.

Nothing against SDW, but I feel like he proves my point. He looked better tonight but I would guess he'll see his minutes dry up. Fred will continue to recruit over him.

And yes I did mean going forward.

And how has that worked out? I just don't think Fred thinks it's worth it, or that players want to ever redshirt.

I don't think Georgios would have turned down a pro contract in Europe to come redshirt either.

Maybe they left it up to the players?

Who said anything about "has to redshirt"? It would be a playing time red shirt. Don't get me wrong, I think he will be really good.

It was so Gerogios could get a solid pop from the crowd, each time he touched the ball. What else is the crowd going to get excited about late when the game is no longer in doubt?

Georgios has a lot to adjust to outside of basketball. He is learning a whole different style of basketball against a whole different type of competition with a language that he is semi-fluent in. We need him for depth this year and will need his length and fouls come Big 12 play. He likely wont do anything great but hopefully provides good minutes.

I feel like this may be overstated.

Sitting on the bench redshirting is wasting a year on these kids. They will get worked in when needed and when ready.

Think about this a bit more before you post it for the 3rd time.

He has potential but still isn't getting it. Edozie can play without being a liability now Custer will eventually get minutes, Georgos is a year away imo. Edozie and to a smaller extend Custer will get the little reserve minutes we have beyond the top 8 and he (Edozie) has earned them...he was the biggest head scratcher recruit in a while. But now I see what Fred saw.
