Yeah, you definitely have a point there, about the rivalry thing. But in all honesty, the only thing Ive read today was that article that was posted in here about the kid who called the cops. I dont like the Rag, and havnt checked anywhere else. Plus, news breaks on message boards much quicker anyways.

I think a big thing that plays into it too is his past, and how Fred has yet to be burned on taking "at risk" transfers, and this time, it may have gotten him.
Dude what the hell, he was playing video games with his roommate and brother and a little bit of pot was smoked and the music was a little loud. This happens everywhere in college unless you are a nerd gorpy kid who calls cops 15 times. You and ur BFF Jon Miller should focus on your own at-risk players, like a guy who went on a drunk moped cruise and got no punishment from Mad Fran.

I don't know what Fred will do but I can't fathom a non-suspension given the previous meeting and BDJ's past. I know that BDJ is not getting the same "benefit" as Georges or Naz might in this situation but although your past may not define you, it certainly provides context. I stand by what I saw on the court in Kansas City and I just think there is a difference between wanting to win (Deandre Kane) and putting yourself above the team. I'm just not sure if Nader or BDJ had earned the benefit of the doubt on this one. Plus as a teammate I would be ****** for having to deal with this type of distraction 36 hours before a crucial game.

Here come the same recycled posts from a few weeks ago. Broken record.

You have to remember about 20% of the country wants cops to strangle anyone to death for selling a single cigarette. We have a lot if authoritarian nutjobs among us.

I believe in people being held accountable for their actions, their choices, but I am far from "an authoritarian nut job." I trust that Fred will make the right call here - whether that's a suspension or no suspension.

Ask yourself a very serious question; would you be posting here if this news had not surfaced today? If yes, I call bull ****. If no, can you understand why people think you are trolling? I don't get on HN everytime I hear a hawk player raped someone or drove a moped intoxicated. Why do you care what happens?

Im posting cause I love sports, especially college basketball, you are our rivals, our game is in 48 hrs. Jesus, what is with some of you? Why do you get so sensitive to someone posting about your team if they are not a clone? Ive been nothing but respectful in this thread, and if you go back and read my posts, its clear im not trolling in the least. Also, what in the heck is your definition of trolling? Sharing an opinion that isnt smothered in cardinal and gold.

Nice touch with the raping and moped stuff, btw. Wouldnt expect anything less.

Are you 13? Because you sound like you're 13. Maybe leave this to the grownups.

Here's a question. If the inappropriate pot arrest hadn't be part of this, is the noise complaint even a story?

BDJ had 5 other complaints, and I don't think anyone heard about that nor was he suspended for those. Five does seem pretty excessive. So if he was gonna be suspended for noise, why not do it at the second complaint, or 3rd, 4th, or 5th? Why is the 6th now the magic number?

The answer is he shouldn't, its a stupid noise complaint, he should pay whatever fines and have Hoiberg deal with it internally.

I'd like to hear Fred say, "I will weigh the facts over the next couple of days and decide what to do once I have them all". The suspend him for Southern, Drake, and Mississippi Valley State once he has all the facts.

I've been posting here for quite awhile. There's a handful of posters who are a little sensitive, but if you have thick skin it's fine. You just have to filter through the riff raff sometimes.

I can get on board with this.

I would like to know when the meeting between Fred, BJD, White, etc. about the noise took place. Was it after the 1st complaint, 2nd, 3rd, .....

It was probably a joke. 4:20..get it?

On a side note, I really hope Pollard is keeping out of this. This should be 100% on Fred.

Actually - I hope it's not. It's a conflict of interest on his part. Take the pressure of Fred's shoulders and have it come down from JP.

Now, that's not to say Fred can't tell JP what to do....

Thanks for that. Do I care that he smokes weed, plays video games, and listens to loud music? No, I dont care. The point, if you can actually think logically, is that he is a high (haha) profile player, who is on a top 15 ranked team, and is on a very short leash. Look, I think weed should be legalized, and I smoke from time to time to, but the bottom line is he committed a crime. Granted its not serious, and imo, a bit ridiculous, but its still a crime. he has to be smarter about the situations he puts himself in.
