According to the media, kansas fans were booing our players from the moment they stepped on the court. This proves they are no better than Iowa state fans.

I hate kansas. I hate bill self. I hate Kansas fans.

I think it proves this is becoming more and more a rivalry.

Am I OK with KU hiring two long time basketball coaches to be Director of Basketball Operations (a completely meaningless position that all programs have) because it gives them a better shot at a recruit? Yes, I am. And Ronnie Chalmers didn't get offered the position by Self until months after Mario Chalmers committed and Self found out that his parents were going to be moving from Alaska to Lawrence to be around their son. Larry Brown did clearly offer the position to Ed Manning to aid in the recruitment of Danny.

If the ncaa were to make this against the rules then I would no longer be OK with it.

You are aware that this isn't against the rules and never has been, right? And don't schools, ISU included, hire personnel largely based on what recruits they will be able to bring in?

That isn't entirely true anymore. The person has to be hired into a coaching role, so DoBO would no longer be allowed.

Lord knows Kansas wasn't booing at the refs... actually I'm not sure what they would've even been booing about.

Probably all the grabbing, hacking and tripping that ISU was doing trying to deny KU players from getting to the inbounds pass the last 4+ minutes. And for the record, I have no problem with it not being called. Mason getting pushed to the ground with no call was the only one I thought should have been called.

Waaaaahhhh ... poor Frank. You won, quit whining. We're a full two games behind KU. Like KU we have 5 road games and already lost to the worst team in the conference. The wishing/dreaming was fun while it lasted.

Are you talking about him falling down towards the game? Mason tripped over Long, not pushed. FYI.

They were booing because we didn't give up and kept fouling. We were only down by 10 with 90 seconds to go. I didn't understand why they were booing? KU would do the same thing if they were down by 10 with 90 seconds to go.

Well there you go. I still have no problem with it. The primary job of an assistant coach is to bring in recruits. they are hired to gain a foothold within a specific geographical area, specific AAU program or specific high school area. If hiring that person means you are going to get specific recruits then that's great. That is the point of hiring assistant coaches. I am sure that hiring Matt Abdelmassih with his ties to the NYC area and experience in JUCO basketball had nothing to do with landing JUCO player Dustin Hogue from Yonkers... That's these guys jobs.

I think that's completely different. We are talking about hiring blood relatives of recruit. I have a problem with it because you and your family is receiving benefits (pay) from the school. Matt's pay doesn't really help Dustin Hogue and his family.

Tripping, whether intentional or not, is a foul. FYI. "They were booing because we didn't give up and kept fouling" Eh, no. My family was there. We spoke about it. The inbounds plays at the end of the game are at the same end of the arena as our tickets. They said it looked to everyone in the arena like ISU was grabbing, pushing and tripping and that people in the stands thought some fouls should have been called. Whether they were right or not is irrelevant. That's what it looked like to them just like it's what it would have looked like to ISU fans if that was happening at Hilton and their team was in the same situation. You're just making a big deal over nothing trying to play on the whole "KU Boos" theme.

Not whining, just answering the question. And for the record, ISU is still fully in this if they can play the rest of their road games at that level of intensity. Texas is on the verge of a full meltdown and has lost 2 of their 3 Big 12 home games. Oklahoma is REALLY thin and will be puking in garbage cans if you run them as hard as you ran KU last night. Okie State is Forte and bipolar Nash and the worst coach in the Big 12. They've won all their Big 12 home games to date but I can see ISU beating them. Not even K-State knows what to expect from K-State these days. And then @TCU which will be a tough but winnable game.

You and Bill Belichick could be the bestest of friends. You realize this is a douchey thing to say, right?
What do you want me to say? I don't have a problem with either of the two instances where KU has done this. You do. Not really much more to say than that.

Fans boo every opponent when they come out for warm ups, when they go in from warm ups and when they have their lineups announced. I have never been to a college basketball game where the home team fans DIDN'T do this to the visiting team. All it proves is that a college basketball game was played last night.

I don't care one way or the other about the booing, but they were blatently booing at McKay intentionally fouling, in an attempt to extend the game, with a little over a minute to go. It was past half court, no one else for Iowa St was trying to foul, and KU was just dribbling out the clock.

Sorry Tuco, you can't rant via numerous threads about " grabbing, hacking and tripping", "pushed to the ground" & "8,000 moving screens", etc, etc, and then close with "I have no problem with it".
Your message board booing is becoming thunderous.
KU fans, always good for a chuckle.
