This is total speculation but I'm totally throwing it out there. After isu kicked arkansas's back end in basketball, my sister from rogers arkansas told me that the word around there was that this could cause monk to go to Iowa state. Her husband works at the Walmart corporate office.

My 6'4 nephew played against him a couple of times. Says he gets insanely high vertically on his jump shot and it's impossible to block. And that's not taking into account his bad *** dunks.

I think they were talking about it in the papers down there too. As in speculating us kicking Arkansas back end would cause him to flip to isu. Sorry, no links. It might have been my nephews high school paper so. . . Didn't really ask for details.

Thanks for the info but I doubt one game will change a kids college choice.

It makes no sense for him to pick schools based on that game. It's probably just fan paranoia.

If there is a chance, he is worth the effort.

Is the CEO of Walmart a major Razorback booster? Otherwise, not sure what this line does for your statement. My uncle is the head of the English Department at University of Denver... he can confirm that Monk is not going to Denver. Is that how this inside information "scoop" game works?

Just giving you hard time. I actually enjoyed your post thus the like.

Per Travis Hines, ISU is in Arkansas visiting him today. Was probably already mentioned in the recruiting thread. Good to see that we are still active in his recruitment

He'd be a great get but I don't think he'll come on Iowa State

I doubt he will either, but the coaching staff doesn't seem convinced yet. It would mean leaps and bounds for this program if it can pry a southern recruit away from both his home-state school AND Kentucky

Odds are against pretty much every team for every recruit but each of those recruits end up somewhere. Kentucky may be the only school that is possibly not in this situation. Duke and Kansas miss on more than they land, but if you are there at the end with enough blue chip recruits you will land one eventually and if you continue to be there at the end you will start to land more of them.

I do deal with someone at Walmart who is good friends with Malik's mom. I am actually going to attend a game (with the guy I deal with at Walmart not Malik's mom) at Bentonville high in a couple of weeks.

He says she is pretty close to the vest about that stuff, of course lots of folks there hope he goes down the road about 20 miles. Though folks I have actually spoken with there are thinking ISU or Kentucky. But nobody really knows.

Says he is a great down to earth kid.

That is great to hear. Too many these days are fed a raft of bull from the time they can dribble a basketball and will have a tough time eventually when they discover they aren't the next Michael Jordan.

I personally think this is the best player in the 2016 and he fits perfectly in what we do here at ISU. Just knowing we still have a chance is huge.
