At some point doesn't the Ford boycott theory come back and bite Poke fans in the ***. Any good coach would have to think twice about taking a job where the fan's reaction to ranked teams is basically a giant meh.

Is T. Boone still pumping $$ through OSU like he was when oil was $100/barrel?

In September 2009, OSU announced a contract extension for its basketball coach that in effect created a 10-year contract. Good through 2019. Escalating salary. All kinds of perks. No buyout for the university, and a stiff buyout ($3 million) for Ford, should he jump to another job.

Wait until Nash, Cobbins, and Forte are gone, woof, they are gonna be awful.

They do have a McDonald's all American coming in and are in the top 5 for diamond stone

Yeah, but it also makes a lot of sense. I suppose they could play at a the Dallas Mavericks arena (which google says is about the same as Ames to Des Moines), but then you're playing in a huge arena with no attendance. It's a much better atmosphere to play in an almost full small gym than a huge, empty arena

And also the rent to play at the Maverick's arena is probably not worth it. A Power 5 school wanting to play at your HS gym and will provide a brand new floor and sound system? Any district would love that. Paying roughly $65,000 rental per event (estimate based on other non-NBA arenas - google search) x at least 9 games is 585k rental costs just for conference games.

KSU crowds have been shockingly poor recently.

I'm not sure why you would write such a thing. I attend every game. The place has been filled for every Big 12 game. K-State does report attendance based on tickets sold. That means empty chairs often get reported as full, even though there's no butt in the seat. But overall, State's attendance during conference play has been stellar, given the product quality. That was not the case for the OOC schedule.

True. If $$$ is all that matters then attracting a good coach after Ford shouldn't be an issue. But at some point wouldn't you think an apathetic fan base hurts the program somehow? It can't be very excited for recruits to watch a game in a half filled arena.

Still though, seeing ****-poor attendance from the southern teams should always keep the Big 12 Tourney in KC IMO. There should be ZERO talk about bringing it to Dallas/OKC because their fan bases struggle.
It would be far better to talk about bringing it to DSM!

I suppose it all depends on what the kid cares about. OSU's facilities took a huge step forward with the influx of money. If they want a nice players lounge and practice facility OSU has a good shot. If they want an arena full of rabid fans, OSU may be sol. Ford has not had trouble bring in good players.

This is being talked about in a couple threads but thought it deserved its own. The attendence last night was 7,612. For a match up of two top 25 teams. What the hell has happened to GIA? That place rivaled Hilton for the longest time. Now its on Baylor's level.

And that can't be all the Thunder's fault.

From Randy Peterson's twitter 7 mins before tip:
B-K_DfdIIAA44Uc.jpg:large

That's pathetic, we drew over 9500 for the women's game the other night against OU.

How does Ford get the McDonalds AA and high ranked players to come to Stillwater?

Biggest recruiting cheaters in the big 12 is the main one and I've mentioned this several times on this board over the past few years. Also the facilities and proximity to Texas.

I don't know what you're talking about but the other day (I think it was last Saturday) I purposefully paused the Kansas State game because it looked like an entire end (probably upper portion) was empty. The place was far from full.
