If a mod could close this thread that'd be great.
Close the thread?? This one is just too entertaining to see end.

At halftime, we asked the five year old girl that sits in front of us if the Cyclones were going to win, and SHE said "You bet!". I think maybe we could learn something from that.
I didn't stop chewing my knuckles until the last possession...but damned if they didn't come through for us!
Proud of our Cyclones tonight...they didn't quit.![]()
A-freaking-men.
A lot of internet tough guys (and maybe some girls too) hiding behind the anonymity of their keyboards.
There seems to be a lot of "I'm a better fan than you" syndrome going around this board lately and your post telling Skidoosh to "get lost" is a prime example. I think we would want more fans not less...even bandwagon ones. (I'm not calling Skidoosh a bandwagon fan as I have no idea how long he has been a Cyclone fan.)
The dude got frusterated and vented. Give him some grief, some good natured ribbing and let it go. Telling him Cyclone Nation doesn't want or need him is a complete overreaction. ISU's door should always be open to new fans, even the ones that vent on the internet.
There also is (not seems) a lot of immature overreaction to anything related to MBB that is not perfect. ISU has 16 mother ******* wins over ranked teams in the last 2 seasons, more than anyone else in the nation. Some great road wins over ranked teams - numbers that ISU MBB has never put up in their history.
A team that has been one of the most consistent in the nation over the last few years too - as far as being a very good/competitive team.
And yet, when one or two games don't go ISU's way (or even if they win but it's not by enough) - we have babies claiming the wheels have fallen off, Fred has lost the team, no leadership, no heart, etc.
That is ******* pathetic. There is no better fan than you stating that - it's just fact. It's one thing to be disappointed by a loss. It's another to quit on the team/program, pronounce their death this season and claim Fred is losing the program.
Good grief.

How did we go from winning 2 HUGE games, to this? Success go to their heads? Somebody ate the other's leftovers?
Hard to watch

rochclone said:To be fair your the exact type of fan who leaves at halftime and misses one of the best 10 minutes of Cyclone basketball ever. You are the type of fan that Iowa State doesn't need and quite frankly didn't have until we became a top 20 team. I think the term is "bandwagon", so in the words of Isiah Cousins get the **** out of here.
Not impressed with this thread, but to be fair, there were many more, some worse, wheels off posts in the game thread. Too busy to go back and find them, or find out which posters they were from.
I'm not gunna bash too hard, because sitting in Hilton on Monday, there were many negative thoughts going thru my head in that first 25 minutes. Difference is, I didn't publicly publish them.
I wonder if CW hooked Fred up with a nice coupon for new tires.
What is the status update on those wheels?
I guess I kind of treat game threads as a place for people to ***** about how the game is going, and get it all out. Just people reacting emotionally and not always seeing things logically.
In my book, once you think you have something important or useful enough to say in its own thread you open yourself up to more criticism.
I don't know if you were trying to be cute, but this is a dumb post. Nearly every fan base has a fringe group that thinks this way.I think this is the basketball god's way of reminding us that we are Iowa State. We are never safe. We are destined to wear the nut cup for all eternity, and damned be the fan who cast thine crotchal protection asunder.
OP:What is the status update on those wheels?
Expecting anything rational from a game thread is futile. They are cesspools of the worst parts of being a fan. Not just Iowa State but a sports fan in general. Game threads bring out the worst of the worst in posters.
Game threads when we're winning are ok, but as soon as we get down by even 1 point you need to hit the ejector seat button and get the **** outta there.I don't do much right, but by god I stay the hell out of game threads!
