I still think the amazing Hoiberg legacy in Ames has a few more chapters to be written. He needs a Big 12 conference season championships and a true NCAA national championship run for the next chapter.

I have to think he really wants these things with Iowa State (and that a choice to do otherwise might come down to a coin flip).

The longer he stays silent, the more sure he goes.

So is JP on the tailgate tour today? If not, it would seem we should know something soon. Either working on a new contract for Fred, or setting up a press conference to discuss him taking the Bulls job.

Burton and McKay are not going anywhere regardless of Hoiberg leaving or not. They have both said on Twitter that T.J. is their Millwaukee "homie". lol

Very interesting things going on for sure. Likely fred has been offered and accepted Bulls gig..however...the Bulls can't just let thibs go for $10 mil and nothing. They are trying to leverage draft picks with wither NO or Orlando. NO could lielly hire Gentry and soon leaving only Orlando for thibs to land. No way Orlando is giving Bulls their lottery pick. If Bulls and Orlando can't work out deal it is highly likely Thibs stays. This is prob why it's been silent, fred can't make a move until Bulls have their deal.

side note...if JP hires TJ as HC without putting out serious feelers to other coaches then it will be the end of JP at Isu.

If the feelers don't come back positive then we may never hear about them, though.

I think the players are coming to the realization that our team can survive and flourish without Coach Hoiberg "driving that bus". I would be surprised if key players left.

Maybe. Hoiberg has typically been pretty quiet at this time of year. Of course, this year seems worse, but it has been his MO. And this year he has the surgery recovery also. Geez, talk about the kind of stress you don't want someone to have right after heart surgery. I would still like to think that he is letting his NBA stock rise as high as it can, then leverage it for the benefit of Iowa State.

Re: Hoiberg to Accept Bulls Job, If Offered

He is essentially gone. It is just when. First MA, then Darien, then Diallo, then Otz, then silence for weeks. 90 per cent chance Bulls hold all the cards. Damn Bulls. They already stole Floyd. Maybe we need a coach in the future who has no NBA connections, say like the UNI coach.

Yeah... Floyd goes to Chicago after being hired by his fishing buddy who then turns around and guts the Bulls roster and leaves Floyd hanging high and dry. Hey... that is what you sign up for when you go to the NBA though. It's a nice payday and then they sweep the rug right out from underneath you.

No, he is not

Hearing that Jamie Pollard did not make Iowa State’s Tailgate Tour today. Not sure if it means anything or not but lots going on obviously.

The "odd" thing about JP missing the tour today is he LOVES the tour. It's the main reason he rushed back into the office. It's his tour and it must be something pretty pressing to miss it...

Hopefully it's to restructure the Hoiberg contract and not searching for his replacement.

Anyone know who is representing the MBB team today on the tour? First leg was Coach Mann.

So if Fred leaves I assume the TJ 1 year deal turns into a TJ 3 or 4 year deal.
In college you cannot have an interim head coach.

TJ then goes out hires some AAU coach to his staff that has a couple of studs on it. Hate to get in the swamp like that but I think that is the path he would have to take.

The only concern is X's & O's I admit I am not familiar with TJ's skills in that area.
