Opinions? Everything you post is pretty much you declaring something to be whether it is or not. I don't really care if TJ stays or goes at this point. Its up to Prohm to make the hires because he is the head coach now. He knows more about running a basketball program than you or I do. Hoiberg is gone. TJ is overrated big time by a small group on this site.

Never meant to declare that statement as fact. I think TJ is a good assistant but not ready for the head coaching job. If the other assistants are Small and Robinson, TJ is clearly way ahead of those 2.

Chicago kids historically do not go to illini or Iowa schools

For some reason, I always thought alot of Illinois kids come to Iowa to play football...why is that? Different scenario?

Well there goes that Michigan tie. Felt like that was getting more and more valuable every year. Too bad, sad to see Mann go.

Not talking about the Orr years, but rather recently....hasn't it seemed like it got us in the door, but not necessarily much further? Not that I want to minimize "getting in the door" at least. Will be interesting to see how Percy and SDW do at Oakland. Maybe it was just a numbers game, but it was tough for them to break into Hoiberg's rotation. Who knows. Still wish them all the best. All will be fine and have opportunities beyond ISU.

Alright, I'll back off a bit. I don't think TJ is clearly ahead of Small. Small has coached with Prohm before. I think TJ's recruiting prowess is overblown too. Ejim is the one standout of all his recruits.

Hearing the name Daniyal Robinson a lot today. He's a former G-Mac assistant. Spent time at Houston and Loyola-Chicago.

Also, Charlie Henry to the Bulls is a done deal.

Any insight on TJ and Mann? It would make zero sense to me why you would bring in Robinson and not bring either of those two back first. Do they not want the job? Does Prohm not want them?

Side note: I just added Prohm to my spell check dictionary.

Brackins?

Didn't he find Wesley Johnson as well? And Mike Taylor? And Matt Thomas was a top 50 recruit? Diante Garret? Also isn't he responsible for McKay even considering ISU as a landing spot because he was recruiting him to ISU in the first place? Which let do Burton
What about Christopherson? Korie Lucious? Will Clyburn?

I don't think his recruiting is that overblown. He isn't John Calipari but for ISU he has been very good

Brackins? Wes Johnson? Garrett once he got in a system that didn't waste his talent?

Ya, Illinois can't even recruit Chicago. If you're not willing to get really dirty, you are limited to mid-major players in the Chicagoland area.

Well since anyone within 2 hours of Chicago considers themselves a Chicago native, that's a pretty big recruiting pool!

TJ also got Babb, Allen, Naz...
Oh yeah and young Babb and Noskowiak

You're just naming his recruits. Babb, Allen and other transfers were Hoiberg's targets. I'm sure TJ did the legwork but Fred closed the deal. Young Babb and Noskowiak are complete unknowns at this point. Ejim is the one guy who has been through ISU, became an AA and led a sweet 16 team. That's my criteria, just like everyone else has theirs. If TJ stays, I'll support it, but he is not make or break for this program going forward. And he better start bringing in 4 and 5 stars if he does stay because his recruiting prowess has been way overblown at this point.
