How about CSU. They just appoved a new fb stadium. They had a decent football season and have decent bb team. Plus it would just be fun to rub it in the nose of CU.
Lets break off and unite all the state colleges in one conference.

The United States Conference:
Iowa State
Kansas State
Oklahoma State
Colorado State
Boise State
Utah State
New Mexico State
Wichita State (lol)

If they do allow a playoff game and two 5 team divisions. How about reseeding the divisions every year based on the previous seasons records. Division A 1,4,5,8,9 Division B 2,3,6,7,10. This way you don't get into the problem of having all the power in one division all the time. Like the old Big 12 and the Current Big 10 and SEC. Cause honestly that kinda sucked. Tie breakers based on record in your division.

Think outside the box.

Um, our tax dollars pay the full cost of attendance for the service academies. :err:

Right. That is why I wrote "military academies are not concerned with paying the full cost of attendance."

Therefore, I would think the academies should be able to compete with less conference support, while a school like Cincinnati would need more conference support.

Pac 12 was the best conference last year. It will be down this year.

Big Ten sucked but had the national champ. It will suck again.

SEC still has no QBs.

I think the Big 12 will by default look strong next year due to the other conferences not being that great. Baylor and TCU made strong cases for themselves. Pac 12 has to drop off. ACC blows. Big Ten was a joke until OSU came out of nowhere. SEC no QBs.

So right now no huge need for expansion. I go Memphis and San Diego State when it does happen. Get back that Mizzou recruiting footprint that was lost and put a team in Pac 12 country. Those 2 programs probably make the Big 12 better than ACC outright in hoops too.

Memphis and San Diego State are the teams the Big 12 should add proactivly. Do it on its own timing though and don't look forced into it make the announcement a year when a Big 12 team makes the playoffs.

Cinci Boise BYU and UCF (maybe yukon but i hope they rot in hell and never join a p5) are the backup plans for if the conference is ever raided but none of them bring anything special to the table and none should be invited unless absolutely necessary.

Don't know why you have to be haten on SBNation. The talk has heated back up again after the OU President opened his mouth. Its all the WVU scout board is talking about again. Personally I would be ok with going back to 12 with Cincy or BYU and UCF or USF. I still can't figure out why Boren is so upset with the LHN. Probably just envious because they have ONLY $500 million to spend on their stadium upgrades:realmad:.

I can't for the life of me understand why other ISU fans don't want a 12 team league. It will make for an easier schedule for us each year and provide a bit more security if a team or two leaves. I get the watering down the league comments, but it hasn't hurt the Big 10. Bring on Cinci & someone else.

Because we enjoy the round robin and actually playing everybody in the league every year.

Simple as that.

Also, anyone that thinks we would go back to 8 conference games if we went to 12 is smoking crack.

I didn't say that, but losing to all these great teams isn't fun either. I would rather have a north/south split again to lessen the pain of losing to 6 south teams virtually every year. Playing primarily against teams with a similar location disadvantage and sitting the south a bit would be way more help. Explain to me how the round robin schedule has helped ISU or anyone really for that matter?

Everyone complains and moans because we only won 5 game the past two years but yet you don't want to water down the league because you might miss TCU or Baylor or OU a couple times? Nobody was complaining when we didn't have Texas and/or OU on the schedule when we did have 12 teams.

But just because the fans enjoy the round robin doesn't mean it's what's best for business.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying expand for Cincinnati and USF. What I'm saying is if (operative word) Florida State and Clemson come calling sometime in the next couple of years, then to hell with the round robin. It's honestly not that important to me.

At a school like Oklahoma, in the eyes of school leaders, mega oil donors, and fans, if you aint first, you're last.

ACC has a GoR in place through '26-'27. There really aren't any options left out there better than the Cincy's, USF's, and BYU's of the world.

I agree that we're at a disadvantage w/o a CCG but what OU and UT fans can't seen to get through their heads is that if they acted like OU & UT on the field the conference would be fine with Cinci and whoever else in it.

Imo any of Cinci, USF, UCF, Memphis etc. are serviceable for our ultimate goal; being like other conference's whose good teams play in the CCG and whose bad teams don't. All of OU & UT fans complaints go away if their football teams would just produce. It's comical to see them run down this conference when TCU is projected by Athlon to be in the NC this year. They're such pu**ies. As if ISU going 2-10 damages them. Do tOSU fans cry about Purdue that way?
