Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

The fact that he didn't put in the article "Fred Hoiberg himself told me that this information is false" and instead wrote that Fred did not respond to his request is a lie. That is as black and white as it gets.

Jamie Pollard said, "Hines' statement was that Hoiberg was 'unavailable for comment', when the exact opposite was true; Hoiberg told Hines that 'it was false information and not to publish the article'."

Many sqwakeyes ******* about all of the problems Fred had with transfers. Fran was doing things the right way. Maybe this pressure is worse than one could imagine. I am sure ISU doing so well in basketball is really hard for sqwakeye fans to accept.

Absolutely completely not. Look at this rationally. Why would Hoiberg say anything at all. NOBODY would expect him to comment on this now. He is in the heat of trying to get his new and LONG sought after job on the ground and going. He went out of his way from all that (nearly the moment this trash article was posted mind you) to completely debunk. Can you give a rational response to why he would do that, especially when he did that.

Because he likes coming home and doesn't want to trash isu?

Question:

What is the absolute best case scenario for Hines here if this thing is 100% true? His claim to fame is his recruiting reporting. Everything else is something anyone could write. So now, who's telling him anything? If I'm Otz or any other assistant I'm not telling him **** because I don't know when he's going to throw it out there. That's if it's all true. If it's not, that's even worse and no one likes you. Now, some people believe him and that's fine but he's ridden himself of current sources.

And tells us what kind of person Jamie is. Jamie admits that he was contacted about the story 2 days ago. Jamie knew hat the story was about. He knew about the individual claims made by Hines. Each claim could have been individually refuted with evidence in a simple email. Instead, Jamie chose to take down Hines by not responding then, but responding after the story was published, and Iowa State had been made to look bad. Jamie made this about his ego.

What Pollard said in the interview, starting at the 1:16 mark, is that Hines put in a request on Monday afternoon to talk to Pollard on Wednesday, the day the story was due. How would Pollard have known exactly what was going to be in the story on Monday if Hines didn't even want to talk about it until Wednesday? Hines was going to meet on Wednesday and rewrite his whole article, because basically JP and FH are saying the whole Hines article is crap???

So apparently you do, and what you're saying is he would lie emphatically to do so.
He doesn't have to lie. He can like Pollard and also have been annoyed with him and not like some of the stuff he did or said. Personally I don't think he liked Pollard but he is a professional and professionals Dont say that. That kind of white lying is called being a civil human being.

Mods should probably put "REFUTED" in the title or something like that...

Yes, the original post needs a mod edit so people quit jumping to conclusions without understand what happened since.

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

Because Fred already knew about it and had warned Jamie. So much for them hating each other...

They both probably had a good idea what was in the article, but Pollard wouldn't have known precise details until after he had met Hines (that is if Hines was even going to discuss all the allegations and give Pollard a chance to respond).

Coming out and saying he had no problems with the way JP managed the program, and his relationship with JP had nothing to do with him leaving when the reverse is true if the article is to be believed is more than a white lie. And it is causing professional harm to a guy like Hines when he comes out and debunks what would be a true article.in your scenario.

Re: Travis Hines: A look into the ISU BBall program and the Athletic Dept

If that's what you got from that interview, there's really nothing I can do for you. Travis Hines lied. Hoiberg told him to put it in the story that he disputed all these claims. Instead Hines decided to lie to the public and claim Hoiberg and not responded to him.
I don't buy that for a minute. I think Hoiberg may have told Jamie that and told Travis not to run the story but I guarantee you Fred didn't tell him put me on record that it isn't true. If so the tribune could be sued all over the place. I am wondering if Hines will hit back on this because I really don't believe Pollard here. He seems to be doubling down.

how can you even come close to saying that?
