I don't trust Pollard at all. Obviously Leeth doesn't either. He needs to go.
lol

It doesn't negate them, but it should be taken in context.
The hotel thing is the best example of this. I can understand being annoyed by the issue. But what Travis implied was that the players were literally without a room for an overnight. They weren't. If they were so inclined they could have gone to the beach for those 3 hours. They could have gone to the pool for those 3 hours. They could have gone to a mall for those 3 hours. They were obviously tired and probably sore, so they didn't want to do that. It was probably annoying to not have a room to hang out in during that time. But life is full of annoyances and just because you are annoyed doesn't mean that somethign was handled completely wrong.
Did he seriously say that? That's a horrible...HORRIBLE response on Pollard's part. He has his chance, and just threw is arms up and said 'welp, it's already written so whatever...'. That is stupidity on his part for not finding out what was said and putting his thoughts into the story.

Some of the sources are probably in the ADs office

Shocking that you believe Pollard
Did I miss a jimlad?
Weren't threads talking about Tommy Birch deleted almost immediately? But we have a mod starting a thread demanding a reporter get fired?
I think Leath probably has a bit more say in our AD than our own AD. Which personally I think sucks but that's the way it is now. If there were ever problems, I would point the fingers at Leath over Pollard, because our athletics issues seem to have become a bigger problem under Leath than they were under Geoffroy. Seems like Geoffroy told Pollard to do what he wants while Leath wants some control.
for those of you calling it poor journalism, I don't really understand why. There are hundreds of stories reported daily in the US that are based on anonymous sources...hell, even the Watergate scandal was an anonymous source. If Hines is sitting in a bar and talking with some of you about what he heard, you'd probably ask him why he's not following up on it...you'd want to know more. Not sure I fault him for writing the story but have a bigger issue with the chicken **** sources who can't be named. Unless of course Hines is making all of it up...which seems a bit far fetched to me.
Unfortunately, there is probably some truth in what was written...but I really question why it's even a big deal at this point. Too much time spent on the past vs what we have to look forward to.
I see how this works.
Some of the sources are probably Tommy from des moines.
Some of the sources are Hines fellow reporters.
Some of the sources are the Hawkeye who stole from the Hawks locker room.
Some of the sources are the football team who are jealous of the attention basketball gets.
Some of the sources are the university of Iowa teaching staff. If they can reject a president they can remove the ad at isu. They don't like his progress.
get real
I think we need a Dead Horse Forum for threads about this "story".
Can you imagine HATING your job so much that you took an other job that more than doubled your salary to work for long-time friends AND have to fulfill your stated career goals as well? GAWD that must have sucked!
