Jeff Brohm.yes please. Dude is one hell of a offensive coach and is a stud at developing QBs.

Iowa State fans were whining for his head after the 2nd season. They were loud and wanted nothing to do with him.
CycloneFanatic is not an accurate representation of Iowa State fans. They are your extremists. Most sane people knew when Herman left for OSU, it was a major loss. What Herman did with the level of talent at ISU was incredibly impressive.

I like the "idea" of Fritz and the offense he runs. I don't know much more about him so it will be interesting to learn more.

Pelini - I would't attend another game as long as he is the coach. The guy is a doooosh bag.

Recruiting - While it may seem counter-intuitive, we should really try to recruit Minnesota, Dakotas, Montana - places where there isn't great college football traditions now. We could knock the socks off kids visiting our stadium and environment/facilities coming from those small population areas. Minneapolis is largely untapped - the Gophers aren't exactly ripping it up, and we've landed some recruits from there in the past. I know we always say Texas, Florida, and California. There are obviously more kids from those places, but it also is where every other school in the world focuses on, and we can't compete with every other school in the world. We need to establish a foothold on a certain aspect of the country. Maybe it's small class rural high schools across the mid-west? We go to Florida and Texas and California to try to get a handful of really fast and skilled players for QBs and CBs, but otherwise focus on the best of the best from rural small schools. Kids from small schools are coachable, humble, work their arses off, and will develop. Think Dallas Clark, Chad Greenway, Jake Knott, Todd Blythe, Ryan Harklau, Levi Peters, etc.

We offerred a guy from the Dakotas who started for us for 4 years. His name was Farniok, I think.

You can go after Meacham and Fuente if you want, but they're both from Oklahoma (Fuente's from Tulsa) and know Big 12 football. As such, they're very unlikely to take ISU and it's recruiting problems as their entry into Big 12 coaching. Fuente can wait until KSU or WVU is available. Meacham can do the same, or look for an opening in the SEC or PAC 12.

Also, Fuente is a Sooner alum and would be on a short list to take over if Stoops went anywhere. As for Meacham, he was an offensive lineman who blocked for Mike Gundy, Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas at OSU. He has also spent 13 years of his coaching life as a member of the OSU staff. If and when Gundy moves on, he would likely by the Cowboys first pick to head the program in Stillwater.

But you can always ask. Just know they would be on loan for a very short time.
You think going to KSU is a way to avoid recruiting problems? Good luck with that.

Ohio State is the curb? Tom left to join Urban, ISU didn't force him out.

Herman recruited Sam Richardson to ISU and he managed to do damn near nothing with the best line we have had in years which included Hicks, KO and Reggie Stephens at one point. That says about all I need to know about Tom. Pass.

Under Tom Herman:
Most points scored against a Big12 opponent: 52 against TTech
Austin Arnaud ranks 2nd all time at ISU with 6,777 yards and 42 TDs, 8,044 total offense
Alexander Robinson finishes 4th all time with 3,309 rushing yards

ISU also went to 2 bowl games under Herman.

EDIT:
Also under Herman:
Victories against:
#2 Oklahoma State
#20 Texas Tech
#19 Texas (in Austin)
Nebraska (in Lincoln)

Record w/ Herman 18-20 47%
Record w/o Herman 13-29 31%

And who was coaching SBR his freshman year in 2012? Not Herman. Herman was out recruiting future B1G freshman and quarterback of the year JT Barrett. Herman not only recruited JT, but continued to coach him and had lots of success.

Are you trying to argue for Herman or not?
ISU only had one true losing season with Herman.
7-6 With a victory over Minnesota in the Insight Bowl
5-7 Season with the "Nebraska 2pt game"
6-7 With a loss in the Pinstripe Bowl

So I am definitely making an argument for Herman. I am not saying ISU will get him. I'm sure Jamie will call down to Houston, but I see very little upside for Herman to come back to ISU.

I don't think he will take it.... I would not if I was him..... Recruiting in Houston is way easier and the expectations are probably not out of control with being out of Power 5.....

I'll give you a name. Barry Odom. He will be head coach at a power 5 school before long and has experience in both the administrative and coaching areas. Young, dynamic and smart - could be a home run hire.

Give me Willie Fritz all day. Won at the FCS ranks. Took over Georgia Southern for their first year in the Sun Belt and won the league with a perfect 8-0 record.

Lost at NC State by 1 point. Lost at Georgia Tech by 4.

Has the team 4-1 this year with their lone loss being a complete thumping by West Virginia. 44-0.

Coached for over a decade at Central Missouri at the Division 2 level. Took over Sam Houston State where he took them to back to back FCS Championship games. Now at Georgia Southern.

Runs a triple option type offense out of the shotgun and pistol formations.

Too lazy to search; What's Fritz's background...is the state of Iowa an obstacle?

Count me on board with Brohm. Probaby will have too many other opportunities, but he would be just perfect for a Big 12 coach with his offensive abilities.
